Hendersonville high school Basketball is a competitive Basketball team that plays in the AAA conference of the North Carolina high School Athletic Association The team has been highly successful in recent years winning the conference championship in 2016 and 2017. The team is coached by Sean Miller and consists of players from all over Hendersonville.

Hendersonville high school Basketball – The Team is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to providing a platform for student-athletes to improve their skills and knowledge of the game while competing at a high level. It is our goal to help young people develop physically, mentally, and emotionally through their involvement in athletics. Our hope is that they will become better citizens as a result of their involvement with our program.

The Hendersonville High School Basketball team has some intense rivalries, both within the conference and outside of it.

Within the conference, Hendersonville is particularly fierce rivals with two other high schools – East Hendersonville High School and West Hendersonville High School The three teams are often vying for the top spot in the conference, and the games between them are always highly anticipated and fiercely contested.

Outside of the conference, Hendersonville has a long-standing rivalry with Asheville High School The two teams have been playing each other for over 50 years, and the games are always highly anticipated events.

Hendersonville high school basketball – The History

Hendersonville High school first fielded a basketball team in 1927. The school’s first basketball coach was Oscar Dean Griffin. He coached the team for two seasons, winning 5 games and losing 10 during that time. In his second season, the team’s record improved to 8 wins and 7 losses.

The following year, the 1928-1929 season, saw Hendersonville High School’s first winning record in basketball. They finished the season with a 9-4 record. That team was coached by Wolferd Tillett. Tillett would go on to coach Hendersonville high school for 19 seasons, winning more games than any other coach in school history. His overall record was 213 wins and 136 losses.
