The Johnson & Wales University (JWU) Hockey team is a NCAA Division III varsity Ice Hockey team that competes in the ECAC East Conference The team is based out of the school’s Rhode Island campus in Providence and plays its home games at the Cousens rink. The JWU Wildcats are currently coached by James Marcou, who is in his third season as Head coach of the team.
Since joining the ECAC East Conference in 2009, the JWU hockey team has been a force to be reckoned with, consistently finishing near the top of the standings. In 2010, the Wildcats finished first in the conference regular season with a 20-5-1 record and made it all the way to the conference championship game, where they ultimately lost to eventual National Champion Plattsburgh State The following year, JWU again finished first in the Regular Season before losing to eventual national champion Oswego State in the conference semifinals.
