Here is a look at Kansas’ probable starting lineup for the upcoming season

PG: Devon Dotson
SG: Quentin Grimes
SF: Ochai Agbaji
PF: David McCormack
C: Udoka Azubuike

Dotson is the Jayhawks’ most likely candidate to take over the point guard duties full-time after sharing time in that role last season with Malik Newman, who has since departed for the NBA. The sophomore from Charlotte, North Carolina is a quick and explosive player who can get to the rim at will and is also a solid defender.

Grimes was Kansas’ leading scorer last season as a freshman and will be counted on to provide even more offense this season. The 6-foot-5 guard from The Woodlands, Texas is an excellent shooter who can also put the ball on the floor and get to the basket. He has unlimited potential and could be one of the best players in college basketball this season.

Agbaji burst onto the scene last season as a freshman and quickly became one of Kansas’ best players. He has good size at 6-foot-5 and is an excellent shooter with range beyond the three-point line Agbaji should see his scoring increase this season as he takes on an even bigger role for the Jayhawks.

McCormack will be Kansas’ starting center after showing flashes of potential last season as a backup to Azubuike. The 6-foot-10 big man from Oak Hill Academy is a physical presence in the paint who can score with his back to the basket or facing up from mid-range. He needs to improve his rebounding if he wants to hold down the starting job all season long

Azubuike returns for his senior season as one of the top centers in College Basketball The 7-footer from Nigeria averaged nearly 13 points and seven rebounds per game last season while shooting an impressive 77 percent from the field. He anchor’s Kansas’ defense with his shot blocking ability and gives them a big body down low on offense.

This starting five is sure to be a force to be reckoned with and has the potential to take home another National Championship title.
