Introduction

Welcome to the University of Miami Women’s basketball team page. Our team is dedicated to bringing our fans the best Basketball Experience available. Our goal is to make each and every game a success, both on and off the court.

Our team is made up of eleven talented student-athletes, all of whom have worked hard to earn their spot on the team. We are proud to have such a diverse group of young women representing our school and our city.

The Team

The University of Miami women’s Basketball team is composed of 12 student-athletes from across the United States The team is led by Head Coach Katie Meier and assistant coaches Amy Bourne and Bradley Langevin. The team plays its home games at the Watsco Center on the university’s Coral Gables campus.

The Hurricanes are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and compete against some of the nation’s top teams in one of college basketball’s most competitive leagues. The team has made nine NCAA tournament appearances, most recently in 2019, when they advanced to the Sweet Sixteen

The 2019-20 season will be an exciting one for the Hurricanes, as they look to build on their success from last year and make a run at an ACC championship.

The Fans

The women’s basketball fans of the University of Miami are some of the most dedicated and vocal supporters in the country. They come out in droves to support their team, and they are always ready to make some noise.

There is a special bond between the fans and the players, and it is evident on and off the court. The players appreciate the support they receive from the fans, and they know that they would not be able to do what they do without them.

The fans are a big part of what makes Miami such a special place, and they will continue to be an important part of the team’s success in the years to come.

The Rivalries

The Miami Hurricanes women’s Basketball team is one of the most popular sports teams in the university. They have a huge following and their games are always packed with fans. The team has a long-standing rivalry with the Florida Gators The two teams have been competing against each other since 1974, and the games are always highly anticipated. The Hurricanes also have a rivalry with the Louisville Cardinals The two teams have been playing each other since 1979, and the games are always very intense.

The Tradition

The University of Miami women’s basketball team has a long and proud tradition of success. The Hurricanes have made 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 14 in a row from 1995 to 2008. They have won 20 or more games in 12 of those seasons, and their all-time record is 634-401 (.610).

The Hurricanes have also been regular participants in the WNIT, making seven appearances overall and four in a row from 2009 to 2012. In 2012, they advanced to the WNIT semifinals for the first time in school history.

The team is currently coached by Katie Meier, who is in her 13th season at Miami. Under Meier’s leadership, the team has won 20 or more games six times, made seven NCAA tournament appearances, and won the ACC regular season championship in 2013. Meier was also named the acc coach of the Year in 2013.

The tradition of success for the Miami women’s basketball team is one that continues to this day. With a strong coach at the helm and a talented group of players, the future looks bright for the Hurricanes.

The Coaches

The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team is coached by Katie Meier and her staff. Meier has been the head coach of the team since she was hired in April 2006. She is a former player and Head Coach of women’s basketball at the College of Charleston Meier is also a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

The Assistant coaches for the team are Michaela Mabrey, Jessica Thomas, and Jamila Wideman. Mabrey is in her first season with the team, after being hired in April 2018. She previously worked as an Assistant Coach at Florida State University Thomas is also in her first season with theteam, after being hired in June 2018. She previously worked as an assistant coach at George Mason University. Wideman is in her second season with the Hurricanes, after being hired in May 2017. She previously worked as an assistant coach at UCF.

The Arena

The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team represents the University of Miami in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). They play their home games at the Watsco Center on the university’s Coral Gables campus. The Hurricanes have reached the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament thirteen times, including three trips to the Sweet Sixteen

The team is currently coached by Katie Meier, who was hired on April 30, 2007. In her thirteen seasons at Miami, Meier has led the Hurricanes to nine NCAA Tournaments, five Sweet Sixteens, four ACC Regular Season titles and three ACC tournament championships.

The Future

The Miami Hurricanes women’s Basketball team is a NCAA Division I college basketball team representing the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The team is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference They play their home games at the Watsco Center on the university’s Coral Gables campus.

The Hurricanes have never made an appearance in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament In 2015, Head coach Katie Meier led the team to its first-ever ACC Tournament victory. The following year, the Hurricanes won their first ACC regular season game

Conclusion

The 2020-21 Miami Hurricanes women’s Basketball Team will look to build on the success of last season, when they finished with a record of 22-11 and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2016. The team is led by head coach Katie Meier and features a talented core of returning players, including redshirt senior forward Keyanna Harris, who averaged a team-high 14.6 points per game last season. With a mix of experience and youth, the Hurricanes are poised for another successful season and should be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC.
