In the other Western Conference matchup, the second-seeded Denver Nuggets will take on the seventh-seeded San Antonio Spurs. The Nuggets are one of the most balanced teams in the league, with star players like Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray leading the way. They will be looking to exact some revenge this time around. The Magic are led by center Nikola Vucevic, who is having a career year.

Who Are The Favorites To win the NBA Championship?
The NBA Playoffs are finally here, and after a long regular season the stage is set for what should be an exciting postseason. There are a lot of great teams that have a chance to win the championship, but there are a few that stand out above the rest. Here are the favorites to win the NBA Championship
The Dark Horses Of The NBA Playoffs
The National Basketball Association (NBA) playoffs are a best-of-seven elimination tournament annually held after the NBA’s Regular Season to determine the league’s championship. The tournament bracket is made up of eight teams from each of the league’s two conferences, the Western Conference and the Eastern Conference
There are a number of teams that could be considered dark horses in this year’s playoffs. The Portland Trail Blazers for example, finished the regular season with a 49-33 record, good for fifth place in the Western Conference They will be up against the fourth-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round. The Rockets are a strong team, but the Trail Blazers have shown they can compete with anyone in the league.
Another dark horse team is the Orlando Magic who finished the regular season with a 42-40 record, good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference They will be up against the second-seeded Toronto Raptors in the first round. The Raptors are one of the best teams in the league, but the Magic have proved they can hang with them by splitting their four Regular season games.
The Indiana Pacers are another team that could make some noise in this year’s playoffs. They finished with a 48-34 record, good for sixth place in Eastern Conference They will be matched up against the third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first round. The 76ers are a strong team, but they have struggled against Indiana this season, losing three out of four games.
Which dark horse team will make it to the NBA Finals? Only time will tell.
The X-Factors Of The NBA Playoffs
The NBA playoffs are set and it’s time to take a look at the X-factors that will decide who goes home with the Larry O’Brien trophy.
There are a number of factors that will play into who ultimately comes out on top in the NBA Finals but here are three big X-factors that could make all the difference:
1) The level of play of Lebron James and Kevin Durant These two superstars will be facing off against each other in the Finals and both will be looking to cement their legacy as one of the greatest players of all time. LeBron is coming off an MVP performance in the regular season and Durant is coming off a Finals MVP performance from last year. The winner of this matchup could very well be decided by which superstar steps up their game more.
2) The role players for each team. While the superstars will get most of the attention, it will be the role players who make or break each team’s chances. Guys like Klay Thompson Draymond Green Serge Ibaka, and Andre Iguodala could swing things heavily in Golden State’s favor, while guys like Kyrie Irving Tristan Thompson, and Kevin Love will need to step up for Cleveland. It will be interesting to see which team gets more production from their supporting cast.
3) The coaching matchup between Steve Kerr and Tyronn Lue. These are two of the best coaches in the league and they both have plenty of experience in big games. However, Kerr has never coached in an NBA Finals before while Lue has led his team to a championship before. It will be interesting to see how each coach approaches this series and if they can make any adjustments that give their team an edge.
The Intangibles Of The NBA Playoffs
The 2015 NBA Playoffs are finally upon us. After a long and grueling 82 game regular season, the 16 best teams in the league have been seeded and will now face off in a battle to the death until only one is left standing. The road to the championship will be full of challenges, and each team will have to bring their A-game if they want to have a chance at winning it all.
There are a lot of things that go into making a successful run in the playoffs, but there are a few intangibles that can often be the difference between winning and losing. Here are three of the most important things to keep in mind if you want your team to make it all the way to the Finals:
1) experience: this is by far the most important thing when it comes to playoff success. Players who have been through the wars before know what it takes to win, and they will be able to instill that knowledge in their younger teammates. It’s not impossible for a team with no playoff experience to win, but it’s definitely more difficult.
2) coaching: a Good Coach can be worth his weight in gold come playoff time. A Great Coach will be able to make adjustments on the fly and put his players in position to succeed. Coaching becomes even more important in close games, as every possession counts.
3) talent: at the end of the day, talent wins out in the playoffs. A team can have all the experience and coaching in the world, but if they don’t have the players to execute their gameplan, they’re not going to win. The playoffs are where superstars shine, so make sure your team has at least one player who can take over a game when necessary.
If your team has these three things working for them, they’ll be in good shape come playoff time. But even then, anything can happen – that’s why we love postseason basketball!
The home court advantage In The NBA Playoffs
In the NBA, the home court advantage is a big deal. The team with the better record gets to play more games at home, and as we’ve seen in recent years that can be a big advantage in the playoffs.
This year, the Golden State Warriors have the best record in the league, and they’ll have the home court advantage throughout the playoffs. That means they’ll get to play more games at Oracle Arena, where they’re nearly unbeatable.
On the other side of the coin, the Houston Rockets have the Worst Record in the league and will be on the road for most of the playoffs. They’ll have to win a lot of tough games away from home if they want to make it to the NBA Finals
The Impact Of Injuries In The NBA Playoffs
Injuries have a significant impact on the NBA playoffs In the past, teams that were decimated by injuries still managed to make deep runs in the playoffs. However, in more recent years teams have been less successful when faced with injuries. The question is: why?
There are a few theories. First, it could be that the level of competition has increased. As the game has gotten better, so have the players. There are simply fewer weak links in the chain for teams to exploit when they’re missing Key Players
Second, it could be that teams are now more reliant on star players than they used to be. In the past, it was common for teams to have multiple All-Stars and/or Hall of Famers Now, it’s not uncommon for a team to have only one or two superstars surrounded by role players. When those superstars get injured, there’s often not enough firepower left to carry the team.
Third, it’s possible that injuries are just becoming more prevalent in general. This could be due to the physical nature of the game or simply because players are getting older and less able to withstand the grind of an 82-game season followed by a long playoff run.
Whatever the reason, injuries can obviously have a big impact on a team’s chances of winning in the playoffs. So far this postseason, we’ve seen several contenders go down with major injuries, including Kyrie Irving (Boston Celtics), Dejounte Murray (San Antonio Spurs) and Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers). It will be interesting to see how these teams fare in the playoffs without their star players.
The Psychology Of The NBA Playoffs
The NBA Playoffs are a time when the best teams in the league go head-to-head in a battle for the championship. But it’s not just the players who are under pressure during this intense competition – the coaches are under pressure too.
As someone who studies the psychology of sports, I’m always interested in how coaches handle the pressure of the playoffs. In particular, I’m interested in how they manage to keep their players focussed and motivated throughout what can be a very long and grueling tournament.
Here are some of the things that I think are important for coaches to keep in mind during the playoffs:
1. The importance of focus: During the playoffs, it’s vital that players remain focussed on the task at hand. There can be a lot of distractions during this time (media attention, family and friends wanting tickets, etc.), but it’s crucial that players maintain their focus on the court.
2. The importance of motivation: It’s also important that coaches keep their players motivated throughout the playoffs. This can be a challenge, as there is a lot of pressure and intensity involved in Playoff Games However, it’s important that coaches find ways to keep their players motivated and focused on the goal of winning the championship.
3. The importance of preparation: Finally, it’s important that coaches make sure their team is prepared for every Playoff Game This means having a good game plan and making sure that players are physically and mentally ready to take on their opponents.
