The Irish are coming off of a season in which they made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament before losing to the eventual National Champion the Baylor Lady Bears Despite that disappointing end to the season, there is a lot to be excited about for this Notre Dame team. They will have one of the best players in all of college basketball in senior guard Arike Ogunbowale, who averaged 20.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season. The Irish will also have another experienced senior leader in guard Jessica Shepard, who averaged 15.2 points and 9 rebounds per game as a junior. With those two leading the way, the Fighting Irish should be a force to be reckoned with on the court this season.
