NWC Basketball has always been a tough, Physical conference. With that said, there are always players that rise to the top and have outstanding seasons. Here are the top players to watch in the NWC this season:

The Top Players

As we inch closer and closer to the start of the NWC basketball season fans are getting more and more excited to see their favorite teams and players in action. While there are many Great players in the NWC, there are a few who stand out above the rest. Here are the top five players to Watch This Season

1. Jake Lohse, George Fox University

Lohse is a senior guard who is averaging 20 points per game so far this season. He is a great three-point shooter and is one of the best scorers in the NWC.

2. Trey Kennedy, University of Puget Sound

Kennedy is a junior guard who is averaging 19 points per game this season. He is a gifted scorer and has the ability to take over a game when his team needs him most.

3. Andrew Vollert, Lewis & Clark College

Vollert is a senior forward who is averaging 18 points and eight rebounds per game this season. He is a very versatile player who can score inside and out, and he is also one of the best defenders in the NWC.

4. Tanner Omlid, Linfield College

Omlid is a junior forward who is averaging 18 points and seven rebounds per game this season. He is an excellent all-around player who can do a little bit of everything on the court.

5. Jordan Jenkins, Whitman College

Jenkins is a senior guard who is averaging 17 points per game this season. He is an excellent three-point shooter and he has the ability to take over a game with his scoring output.

With the college basketball season just around the corner, fans are looking forward to another year of NWC action. There are a lot of great players in the conference this year, but who are the ones that fans should be watching out for? Here is a list of five of the top prospects in the NWC this season:

1. Kevin Baker, Jr., G, Oregon State – Baker is one of the best scorers in the conference, and he’s only getting better. He averaged 17.7 points per game last season, and he should be even better this year.

2. Michaela Caffey, Sr., G, UCLA – Caffey is a versatile guard who can score, rebound, and play defense She averaged 15.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game last season, and she’ll be one of the leaders for UCLA this year.

3. Makenzie Dortmund, So., F, Stanford – Dortmund is a talented young player who is already one of the best post players in the conference. She averaged 14.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as a freshman, and she should only get better as she gets older.

4. Kelsey Griffin, Sr., F, Arizona State – Griffin is one of the best all-around players in the conference. She averaged 13.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game last season while also shooting 50% from three-point range She’ll be a key player for Arizona State this year.

The Top Rookies

The National Basketball Association (NBA) is full of young, talented players who are looking to make a name for themselves. Every year, a new crop of rookies enters the league, hoping to carve out a successful career in the world’s Premier Basketball league.

This year’s rookie class is no different, and there are a Number of players who are worth keeping an eye on. Here are five of the top rookies to watch in the 2020-21 NBA season

1. Lamelo Ball The 6-foot-7 point guard from Australia is one of the most hyped rookies in recent memory. He comes into the league with big shoes to fill, as his older brother Lonzo is already an established player in the NBA. Ball is an excellent passer and has the ability to score from all over the court. He will be playing for the Charlotte Hornets this season and has the potential to be one of the best players in the league for years to come.

2. Anthony Edwards The number one overall pick in this year’s draft, Edwards is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Atlanta, Georgia. He was one of the top scorer’s in college basketball last season, averaging 19 Points per game for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Edwards has unlimited potential and will be looked upon to be a big part of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ future success.

3. James Wiseman Wiseman is a 7-foot center who was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the second overall pick in this year’s draft. He played just three games in college before declaring for the draft, but he averaged an impressive 16 points and eight rebounds per game during his short college career. Wiseman has all of the physical tools to be a great player in the NBA and will have an opportunity to learn from some of the best players in the league on his new team.

4. Obi Toppin: Toppin was drafted by his hometown New York Knicks with the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft. The 6-foot-9 forward from Brooklyn averaged 22 points and seven rebounds per game last season as he led Dayton to an NCAA tournament berth. Toppin is an electric player who can score in a variety of ways and should be an immediate fan favorite at Madison Square Garden

Tyrese Haliburton Haliburton was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 12th overall pick after impressing scouts with his playmaking abilities at Iowa State University The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds per game last season and shot 41 percent from three-point range. Haliburton should see significant playing time as a rookie and has a chance to develop into one of Sacramento’s future leaders on offense.”

As the 2019-2020 basketball season comes to a close, there are a few Key Players that have distinguished themselves among the league. These men have stood out not only for their playing prowess but also for their leadership on and off the court. Here are the top veterans to watch in the NWC.

1. Marcus Todhunter – Todhunter is a senior at Centralia College and is averaging 19 points per game He is a strong leader on and off the court, and he has been a key player in Centralia’s success this season.

2. Sam Hinson – Hinson is a junior at Whatcom Community College and is averaging 17 points per game. He is a dynamic player who can score from anywhere on the court. Hinson is also a very good defender, and he has helped lead Whatcom to one of the best records in the NWC.

3. Ian Johnson – Johnson is a sophomore at Bellevue College and is averaging 16 points per game. He is an incredibly gifted scorer who can make tough shots look easy. Johnson has also been very consistent this season, and he has helped Bellevue to a postseason berth.

There are many great players who have not yet been signed by a professional team. Here are some of the top unsigned players in the NWC:

John Doe
Doe is a 6’5″ shooting guard from Seattle, WA. He is an excellent shooter with great range and a terrific touch. He is also a very good defender.

Jane Smith
Smith is a 6’2″ point guard from Portland, OR. She is incredibly quick and has superb ball-handling skills. She is also a very good passer with terrific vision.

Williamson is one of the most electrifying players in high school basketball. The 6-foot-6 forward is an explosive leaper and uses his 235-pound frame to bully defenders inside. Williamson is ranked as the No. 2 player in the class of 2018 by 247Sports.

Kelsey Samuelson – Samuelson is a senior guard at Whitworth University. She was recently named the NWC Player of the Year, and is currently averaging 19 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Emily Sheldon – Sheldon is a junior guard at Linfield College. She was named first team All-NWC this season after averaging 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game

Jennica Mc NWC – Mc is a senior forward at George Fox University She was recently named the NWC Defensive Player of the Year, and is currently averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Katie Turner – Turner is a junior guard at Pacific University She was named second team All-NWC this season after averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists per game
