Carmelo Kyam Anthony (born May 29, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has been named an All-Star ten times and an All-NBA team member six times. He is also a ten-time member of the USA Basketball national team winning a gold medal in the 2014 FIBA World Cup and bronze medals in the Olympics in 2004 and 2008.
Anthony was born in New York City He played High School basketball at Oak Hill Academy and Towson Catholic high school before transferring to James B. Baldwin high school [1] where he helped lead his team to a number of wins. As a freshman at Syracuse University he led the team to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance. In his third year with the team, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA Tournament after leading his team to their first ever National Championship After one season with Syracuse, he entered the 2003 NBA draft and was selected by the Denver Nuggets as the third overall pick.
