National League

The National League of Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball organization. It is one of the two leagues that make up Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada, and it is widely considered to be the premier Professional Baseball League in the world.

The National League was founded on February 2, 1876, with eight teams in two divisions: the East and the West. These eight teams were originally located in or near some of the largest cities in the United States at that time: Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York City Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, and Washington D.C. The National League has since grown to 30 teams, divided equally into three divisions: East, West, and Central.

The National League’s 30 teams are located across the United States from coast to coast. The league is also split into two sub-leagues: the American League (AL) and the National League (NL). Each sub-league has 15 teams. The American League includes three divisions: East, West, and Central; while the National League has only two divisions: East and West.
