Ricky Davis is an American professional basketball player who was most recently a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. He played college basketball for UCLA, and was drafted 21st overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1998 NBA draft Davis has also played for the Miami Heat Boston Celtics Minnesota Timberwolves Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Hornets.

At 6’7″ (2.01 m), Davis primarily plays the shooting guard or small forward position. He is known for his high-flying dunks and his versatility as a scoring guard. He has averaged over 15 points per game in five different NBA seasons

Davis was born in Orange County California and grew up in Long Beach California. He attended Polytechnic High School in Long Beach where he played basketball with future NBA players Tayshaun Prince and Tyson Chandler. He then attended UCLA, where he played for two seasons under Head Coach Steve Lavin. As a sophomore, he helped lead UCLA to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament

In 2011, Davis found himself back with the Miami Heat where he would play a key role off the bench during their run to an NBA Championship He averaged 6.8 points and 2.7 rebounds during the playoffs, and hit a key three-pointer in Game 5 of the Finals against the Dallas Mavericks

Davis began his career with the Charlotte Hornets in 1998. He quicklyestablish himself as one of the best players in the league, averaging 21 points per game over his first three seasons. In 2001, Davis was traded to the Miami Heat where he won his first NBA Championship

Davis continued to be a prolific scorer throughout his career, averaging double-figures in points every season except for his final year in the league. He also had a brief stint with the Boston Celtics where he won his second NBA championship in 2008.

In total, Ricky Davis played 1,089 games in the NBA, tallying more than 19,000 points. He is widely considered one of the best journeyman players in league history and will surely be inducted into the Hall of Fame once he becomes eligible.

He declared for the NBA Draft after his junior year and was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 21st overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft

Davis has played for eight different NBA Teams over his 14-year career. His best season came in 2002-03, when he averaged 20.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Boston Celtics He was named to the All-Star team that season and was named the MVP of the All-Star Game after scoring 28 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

Davis has had quite a journey to get to this point in his career. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets with the 21st overall pick in 1998. He then spent time with the Miami Heat Cleveland Cavaliers Boston Celtics Minnesota Timberwolves Los Angeles Clippers and finally the Golden State Warriors It was with the Warriors that Davis found his niche as a Sixth Man and helped them to a shocking NBA Finals victory over the heavily favored Cleveland Cavaliers

In the Finals, Davis averaged 18 points and 4 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 52% from the field. He was especially clutch in Game 7, scoring 23 points and hitting some Big Shots down the stretch to help seal the victory for the Warriors. For his efforts, he was rewarded with the NBA Finals MVP trophy.
