The History of the Saint Peter’s Peacocks Women’s Basketball Team
The Saint Peter’s Peacocks women’s Basketball team is one of the most successful programs in the history of Division I Basketball The team has won five NCAA Division I championships, six Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) championships, and seven Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championships. The Peacocks have also made sixteen appearances in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament including two Final Fours.
The team is currently coached by Tony Bozzella, who has led the Peacocks to five MAAC championships and four NCAA tournament appearances in his six seasons at the helm. Under Bozzella’s leadership, Saint Peter’s has become one of the premier women’s basketball programs in the country.
