Scott Kazmir is a professional baseball player who has pitched in the Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Tampa Bay Rays Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Oakland Athletics Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians He has also played in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) for Team USA

##Kazmir was drafted in the 1st round of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Mets out of Cypress Falls High School in Houston, Texas. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now the Rays) in 2004 as part of a 7-player deal that sent Vaughn to the Mets. Kazmir made his MLB debut with the Devil Rays in 2004, and was traded to the Angels in 2009. He helped lead the Angels to their first American League West division title in 2009, and was named an All-Star for the first time that year. He was traded to the Astros in 2013, and then signed with the Indians before the 2014 season.

Kazmir is a 3-time All-Star (2009, 2014, 2018), and led MLB in strikeouts per 9 innings pitched (K/9) in 2007 and 2014. He was also a member of Team USA for the 2017 World Baseball Classic

Kazmir was drafted in the first round of the 2002 major league baseball draft by the New York Mets out of Cypress Falls high school in Houston, Texas. He was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays in a deal at the 2004 trade deadline that sent Victor Zambrano to the Mets. In his Major League debut on August 23, 2004, Kazmir struck out Joe Mauer Justin Morneau, and Michael Cuddyer, becoming the first pitcher since Karl Spooner in 1954 to strike out three consecutive batters in his debut.

During his time with the Rays (2004–2009), Kazmir was considered one of baseball’s best young pitchers. In 2006 and 2007 he was selected as an All-Star. After the 2008 season he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for Sean Rodriguez, Alex Torres and Matt Sweeney.

He pitched for Team USA in the 2009 World Baseball Classic He was traded to the Cleveland Indians midway through the 2013 season. After struggling with injuries and poor pitching with the Indians organization he was released on July 30, 2014. He signed a minor league contract with Sugar Land Skeeters of Atlantic League of Professional Baseball on August 8, 2014 but never played for them due to not passing a physical by August 16 due to his left elbow injury not healing up as planned so he became a free agent again on August 19 after being released from Sugar Land due to not passing his physicals giving him no choice but to accept them releasing him making him once again a Free Agent on August 19 after just 12 days since signing with them on August 8.

On February 5, 2015 he signed a Minor League deal that included an invitation to spring training with Houston Astros but was released on March 27.
