The South Dakota State Women’s basketball team has released their schedule for the upcoming season The team is led by sophomores Myah Selland and Ashley Eide, who averaged 11.2 and 10.1 points per game respectively, last season. Other key returners include senior Kennedy Johnson (9.6 ppg) and junior Macy Goltz (7.8 ppg). The Jackrabbits will open the season at home against Oral Roberts on November 10th.

The team started the season with a bang, winning their first four games. This included a hard-fought victory against Iowa State which was ranked #25 in the nation at the time.
since then, they have suffered losses to Kansas State and TCU, but have bounced back with wins against Oral Roberts and North Dakota State

Post-Game Analysis
The South Dakota State University (SDSU) women’s basketball team fought hard against the University of Iowa (UI) in their season opener but ultimately lost 83-64. SDSU was within striking distance for much of the game, only trailing by six points at halftime, but were unable to keep pace with the Hawkeyes in the second half.
The Jackrabbits were led by sophomore point guard Myah Selland, who finished with a game-high 21 points. Senior center Macy Miller chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.
The Hawkeyes were paced by freshman center Ashton Waldner, who had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Kathleen Doyle also scored 18 points for UI, while dishing out a game-high seven assists.
SDSU will look to Bounce Back when they take on Purdue University on Sunday, November 17th at 2:00pm CST. That game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
