The Stetson Hatters basketball team is composed of student-athletes from all over the country, each with their own unique story. Get to know a little bit about each one of them below.

Josh Pierre-Louis is a guard from Brooklyn, New York. He is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and defend.

Abdoulaye Harouna is a forward from Mali. He is a physical player who loves to rebound and block shots

Divine Myles is a guard from Detroit, Michigan. He is an explosive scorer and playmaker on the court.

Rob Perry is a forward from Los Angeles California. He is a hard worker who hustles for every loose ball.

Get to Know the Stetson Hatters

The Stetson Hatters are a NCAA Division I college Basketball team that represents Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. The Hatters currently compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference. They are currently coached by Corey Williams.

TheHatters have appeared in four NCAA Tournaments. Their combined record is 0–4. They have also appeared in one National Invitational Tournament Their combined record is 2–1.

Stetson has had two players named to the All-American Team Pat Chambers was a second-team selection in 1978 and Franklyn Young was a third-team selection in 1987.

The hatters have had three head coaches selected for conference Coach of the Year honors. Glenn Wilkes, Sr., was honored in 1972 and 1973 when they were members of the Florida Intercollegiate Conference and Dick Barnett was honored in 1987 when they re Playing as an independent school before joining the Trans America Athletic Conference (now Atlantic Sun).

The team’s Head Coach is Corey Williams, who was hired in March of 2019. The Hatters finished the 2019-20 season with a record of 12-20 overall and 7-9 in conference play

The 2020-21 roster includes four seniors, four juniors, four sophomores, and three freshmen. The seniors on the team are Adam Sanjurjo, Derick Newton, Abayomi Iyiola, and Ryan Jensen Junior Jahlil Rawley is the team’s leading returning scorer, having averaged 11.5 points per game last season.

The Stetson Hatters History

The Stetson Hatters basketball team is a college basketball team that represents Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, United States The Hatters compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference They play their home games at the Edmunds Center.

Stetson has competed in NCAA Division I basketball since 1957. In that time, the Hatters have appeared in six NCAA Tournaments (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2002), with their most recent appearance coming in 2018. They have also won five conference tournament championships (1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2018) and six regular season conference championships (1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2016, 2018). The Hatters have had ten All-American selections and seventeen former players go on to play in the NBA.

The Stetson hat is a trademarked part of Americana. The Hatter men’s basketball team was named after this iconic piece of headwear worn by the original campus hatshop owner John B. Stetson in the late 1800s.

The Stetson Hatters Coaches

The Stetson Hatters men’s Basketball team is coached by Corey Williams, who was hired on March 27, 2017. The current assistant coaches are Ben Chamberlain and Brendan Dunne. The Hatters play their home games at the Edgewater High School Gymnasium in Orlando, Florida.

Prior to Williams’ hiring, the Hatters were coached by R.J. Novak for one season. Novak led the team to a 24–10 record overall and a 12–4 mark in Atlantic Sun play, winning the regular season conference championship The Hatters won their first ever Atlantic Sun conference tournament game against Kennesaw State before losing to eventual tournament champion Florida Gulf Coast in the quarterfinals.
