Introducing the Stony Brook Seawolves
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the athletics teams that represent Stony Brook University in Stony Brook New York. The Seawolves compete in the NCAA Division I as members of the America East Conference They were members of the East Conference from 1997 to 2013. The team name refers to the indigenous Long Island wolf which inhabited Long Island prior to the arrival of Europeans.

The Stony Brook Seawolves men’s basketball team will look to build on their 2016-17 success this upcoming season They will have their work cut out for them, as they face a challenging schedule. Here is a look at the Seawolves’ 2017-18 schedule:

Non-Conference Games to Watch
The Stony Brook men’s Basketball team will take on some tough non-conference opponents this season, with several games sure to be must-see match-ups.
In November, the Seawolves will face off against Big East foe Xavier, as well as last year’s NCAA tournament participants Buffalo and Murray State Stony Brook will also travel to Michigan to take on a solid Oakland squad.
December will see the Seawolves square off against in-state rival Hofstra, as well as 2017 NCAA Tournament Cinderella story UMBC. Other notable games in December include a home contest against Hartford and a road trip to take on Ivy League foe Columbia.
January begins with a visit from America East foe Maine, followed by a three-game road trip that takes the team to Vermont, New Hampshire and UMass Lowell The Seawolves will also host defending America East champion Albany in late January.
February features another tough road trip, this time to Binghamton, Maine and Hartford. The Seawolves will also host UMBC and Vermont at home during the month.
The America East Conference schedule begins in early March, with the Seawolves set to take on Albany, UMass Lowell and Binghamton at home and travel to face New Hampshire, Maine and Hartford on the road.

The Stony Brook Seawolves Men’s Basketball team will play at home in the new Stony Brook Arena this season. The first game in the arena will take place on November 14th against Maine.

The Seawolves’ Postseason Schedule
The Stony Brook Seawolves men’s basketball team will be appearing in the postseason for the fourth consecutive year. They have been invited to play in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT), and their first game will be on Wednesday, March 15, against Hofstra. If they win, they will play again on Saturday, March 18, against the winner of the game between Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart
This will be Stony Brook’s fourth appearance in a postseason tournament in the last four years. They previously appeared in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in 2016 and 2017, and the CIT in 2018.
How to Follow the Seawolves
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the NCAA Division I basketball team that represents Stony Brook University The team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena. The Seawolves have appeared in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament three times, all as a #16 seed.
The 2017–18 Stony Brook Seawolves men’s basketball team represented Stony Brook University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men’s Basketball season The Seawolves, led by ninth-year Head Coach Jeff Boals, played their home games at Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook, New York as members of the America East Conference They finished the season 23–11, 11–5 in America East play to finish in second place. In the America East Tournament they defeated Vermont and UMBC before losing to Albany in the Championship game They received an invitation to the college basketball Invitational where they defeated Norfolk State and West Virginia before losing in the quarterfinals to South Dakota State

Season Preview
The Stony Brook basketball team is gearing up for an exciting season. The Seawolves will have their home opener on November 6th against Hartford. Some of the other key games on the schedule include a road game at Syracuse on December 4th, and a Home game against reigning America East champion Vermont on February 8th.
