Keys to Success for the Season
Throughout the years, the Towson men’s basketball team has had some remarkable seasons. Last year, the team went all the way to the Conference USA Championship game The Tigers have made it to postseason play in three of four years under Head Coach Michael White. In order to continue this success, there are a few Key Players that will need to step up this season.
One player to keep an eye on is senior forward Alex Thomas. Thomas was named to the preseason all-conference team and is one of the leaders of this Towson squad. He averaged 12.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last season and will be looked upon to be a big part of the offense again this year. Another player that will need to have a big season is junior guard Zane Martin. Martin was second on the team in scoring last year, averaging 11.4 points per game He will be counted on to provide a scoring punch again this season as well as help out on the glass.
The Tigers will also need some production from their bench players if they want to have another successful season Junior forward Najee Garvin and sophomore guard Jason Gibson are two players that will need to contribute off the bench for Towson. Both players saw significant minutes last year and will be looked upon to provide a spark when called upon this season.
These are just a few of the key players for Towson this season. If they can step up and have big years, the Towson men’s basketball team could find themselves back in the conference championship game come March.
