Coach Meyers
Coach Meyers is in his seventh season as Tulane’s head baseball coach Under his tutelage, the Green Wave has won four conference championships and made five NCAA regional appearances. In 2014, the team made its first trip to the College World Series in Omaha. In addition to his coaching duties, Meyers also serves as the Director of player personnel
Coach Schlossnagle
Troy Schlossnagle is in his 12th season as head coach of the Tulane baseball program He has led the team to 10 straight NCAA Regional appearances, including five trips to the College World Series Under his guidance, the team has won four conference championships and made seven appearances in the NCAA Super Regionals Coach Schlossnagle has been named Conference Coach of the Year four times and was named National Coach of the Year in 2009.
Coach Cannizaro
Coach Cannizaro is in his second season as Head Coach of the Green Wave baseball team. He has led the team to a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA tournament
Under his leadership, the team has had a winning record in each of his seasons at the helm. In his first season, the team won 41 games, setting a school record for most wins in a single season.
Coach Cannizaro is a native of New Orleans and played baseball at Tulane University from 1998-2001.
The Staff
Tulane baseball is led by Head coach Troy Dannen and Assistant coaches Michael Federico, RE24 Matt Riser, & Brad Schreiber.
Troy Dannen is in his seventh season as the Green Wave head coach During his time at Tulane, Dannen has led the team to two NCAA Regional appearances and one Conference USA regular season title. Prior to Tulane, Dannen served as the head coach at the University of Nevada from 2000-2006.
Assistant Coach Michael Federico enters his fourth season with the Green Wave Baseball Program and his first as the squad’s hitting coach. Federico also serves as Tulane’s recruiting coordinator. Prior to coming to New Orleans, Federico was an Assistant Coach at Southeastern Louisiana for three years (2014-16).
RE24 Matt Riser enters his sixth season with the Green Wave baseball program and his second as the squad’s pitching coach. Prior to Tulane, Riser served as an assistant coach and pitching coach at LSU from 2009-13.
Assistant Coach Brad Schreiber begins his seventh season with the Green Wave Baseball Program and his first as Tulane’s defensive coordinator/catching coach. Schreiber also serves as Tulane’s camp director.
The Team
The Tulane baseball team is coached by David Pierce, Jake Gautreau, and Travis Jewett. The three coaches bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Coach Pierce is in his fourth year as head coach of the Tulane Baseball Team He has led the team to two NCAA Regional appearances and one Conference USA regular season championship. Prior to coming to Tulane, Coach Pierce served as the head coach at Sam Houston State and Rice University.
Coach Gautreau is in his first year as an assistant coach at Tulane. He previously served as the head coach at Coastal Carolina University for four years. Coach Gautreau was named the Big South Coach of the Year in 2016 after leading Coastal Carolina to a Conference Championship
Coach Jewett is also in his first year as an assistant coach at Tulane. He comes to Tulane after serving as assistant coach at the University of Houston for four years. Prior to his time at Houston, Coach Jewett was an assistant coach at Vanderbilt University for two years.
The Schedule
The Tulane baseball coaching staff for the 2019 season features four coaches. Head Coach Travis MacDonald, pitching coach Gary Henderson, hitting coach Michael Wiedenbauer, and Volunteer Assistant Coach Bruce Grand Pre. The staff will look to guide the Green Wave to success in the 2019 season.
-Travis MacDonald is in his first season as head coach of the Green Wave. Prior to Tulane, he coached at Southern Miss for three seasons.
-Gary Henderson is in his sixth season as pitching coach of the Green Wave. Prior to Tulane, he coached at Kentucky for nine seasons.
-Michael Wiedenbauer is in his first season as hitting coach of the Green Wave. Prior to Tulane, he coached at Southeastern Louisiana for six seasons.
-Bruce Grand Pre is in his first season as volunteer assistant coach of the Green Wave. Prior to Tulane, he coached at LSU for eight seasons.
The Field
The Field is led by head coach Travis Jewett who is in his first season with the Green Wave. Under his leadership, the team has had an overall record of 26-27 and a conference record of 11-16. Pitching coach Mark Slessinger is in his sixth season with Tulane. He has helped the team to an overall 3.49 ERA, which is the lowest since he joined the Coaching Staff Hitting coach Blake Dean is also in his first season with Tulane. He has helped the team to a .270 batting average which is the highest since he joined the coaching staff

The Tradition
The Tulane baseball program has a rich tradition of success, dating back to its founding in 1893. The team has won 12 conference championships and made 15 NCAA Tournament appearances, including three trips to the College World Series Under head coach Rick Jones, the Green Wave has become one of the top programs in the country, consistently ranking among the nation’s leaders in both attendance and winning percentage.
The Future
Planning for the future is a top priority for Tulane baseball head coach Travis Jewett and his staff. “We want to put ourselves in a position to be successful not only in the short term but also in the long term,” Jewett said. “That’s why recruiting and player development are so important to us.”
