Pitching Staff
The Green Wave will look to replace departed arms in the 2019 campaign
Tulane will have some new faces on the mound in 2019 as the team looks to replace departed pitchers from last year. Among the returners, senior right-hander Ross Massey will be looked to as a leader of the pitching staff. The Madison, Mississippi, native appeared in 16 games last season, posting a 2.70 ERA over 40 innings of work.
Infielders
The Green Wave will have six returning infielders in 2019, highlighted by All-American Kody Hoese. Joining Hoese in the infield will be senior shortstop Branden Henry, junior second baseman Jake Willsey, junior first baseman Blake Hirschboeck, sophomore third baseman Hunter Lisle and freshman utility player Seth Holbert.
Outfielders
The Tulane University baseball team has a long and proud history, dating back to 1893. The team has won conference championships and made appearances in the NCAA tournament The 2019 team is made up of talented young athletes from all over the country. Here is a look at the outfielders on this year’s roster.
Redshirt senior outfielder Jarret DeHart is from Matthews, North Carolina He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 38th round of the 2016 MLB Draft but chose to come to Tulane to complete his degree in communications. DeHart is a speedy left-handed hitter who has a career batting average of .285 with seven home runs and 63 RBIs.
Junior outfielder Grant Witherspoon is from Baton Rouge Louisiana. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the third round of the 2016 MLB draft but chose to attend Tulane on an athletic scholarship Witherspoon is a left-handed hitter with a career batting average of .270 with six home runs and 34 RBIs. He was named Second Team All-American Athletic Conference in 2018.
Sophomore outfielder Kody Hoese is from DeMotte, Indiana. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 2019 MLB Draft but chose to attend Tulane on an athletic scholarship. Hoese is a right-handed hitter with a career batting average of .321 with four home runs and 30 RBIs.
Catchers
The Tulane Baseball Team will have two new catchers this season.
Abry Jones, a transfer from Howard, and Jake Rogers, a transfer from Chipola College, will join the team.
Jones is a native of Slidell, Louisiana. He played his High School career at Salmen high school before attending Howard University In his two years at Howard, he hit .257 with four Home Runs and 22 RBIs. He was named to the All-MEAC Second Team as a junior.
Rogers is a native of Tallahassee, Florida. He played his high school career at North Florida Christian high school before attending Chipola College. In his two years at Chipola, he hit .287 with seven home runs and 40 RBIs. He was named to the Panhandle Conference All-Second Team as a sophomore.

The 2019 Tulane Green Wave baseball team will represent Tulane University in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season The GreenWave will play their home games at Turchin Stadium as a member of the American Athletic Conference They will be led by first-year Head Coach Travis Jewett.

2018 Results
The 2018 Tulane baseball team finished the season with a record of 33-26 overall and 12-12 in Conference USA play. The team qualified for the Conference USA tournament, but was eliminated in the first round.
2017 Results
In 2017, the Tulane Green Wave baseball team posted a 32–28 overall record and a 16–14 conference record. The team qualified for the American Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament but lost in the first round to Wichita State
2016 Results
In 2016, the Green Wave posted a 32-27 record and finished tied for fifth in the American Athletic Conference with a 12-12 record. The team advanced to the conference tournament for the second consecutive season and went 1-2, falling to eventual tournament champion Houston in the Opening Round

Tulane has a long and storied baseball history The team has been in existence since 1893 and has won 5 National Championships The Green Wave have produced numerous Major League Baseball players, including Hall of Famer Mel Ott
The 2019 Tulane Baseball Team is comprised of 27 talented players from all over the country. The roster includes 6 seniors, 11 juniors, 7 sophomores, and 3 freshmen. 14 of the 27 players are pitchers, including 6 left-handers. The team will be led by head coach David Pierce, who is in his 3rd season with the program.
The Green Wave will open their 2019 season on February 15th with a 3-game series against the University of Connecticut Huskies. Tulane will then play their first home series of the year against cross-town rival the University of New Orleans Privateers from February 22-24th.
