UAlbany Basketball Releases Non-Conference Schedule

The UAlbany men’s basketball team has released its non-Conference Schedule for the upcoming season The Great Danes will face some stiff competition, including games against Syracuse, UConn, and Notre Dame

UAlbany releases non-conference schedule

The University at Albany men’s Basketball team released its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday. The Great Danes will play 11 games against teams from seven different conferences prior to beginning America East play in early January.

UAlbany’s non-conference slate includes seven home games at SEFCU Arena, four road contests, and two neutral site matchups. The Great Danes open the season with a pair of home games beginning with a contest against Hartford on Tuesday, November 5. UAlbany then plays host to Niagara on Friday, November 8.

UAlbany’s opponents

The University at Albany men’s basketball team released its non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season on Monday afternoon. The Great Danes will play nine games against seven different opponents outside of America East Conference play.

UAlbany’s opponents outside of the conference are as follows: Siena (Nov. 6), UMass Lowell (Nov. 9), Colgate (Nov. 16), Hofstra (Nov. 23), Niagara (Dec. 3), Bryant (Dec. 14), and Stony Brook (Dec. 21). Of those seven schools, UAlbany has faced all but Niagara in recent years

Siena and UMass Lowell will be the first two opponents of the season for the Great Danes. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2016 when UAlbany defeated Siena 78-62 at SEFCU Arena. The Great Danes have won four straight games against the River Hawks dating back to 2014, including a 74-73 victory last season in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Colgate will visit Albany on Nov. 16 for only the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools. The Raiders have won two of three prior contests, with the most recent game being played in December 2005 when Colgate defeated UAlbany 67-51 at Cotterell Court in Hamilton, New York.

The Great Danes will open their season with a pair of home games beginning with Bryant on Tuesday, November 5th. UAlbany will also host St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, November 9th in the home opener

UAlbany’s away games

The University at Albany men’s basketball team will open its 2016-17 season with Home Games against Bryant on Friday, Nov. 11, and Colgate on Sunday, Nov. 13, before hitting the road for six of its next seven games.

UAlbany will play at Old Dominion on Wednesday, Nov. 16, Hofstra on Saturday, Nov. 19, UMass on Tuesday, Nov. 22, Florida A&M on Saturday, Dec. 3, Yale on Monday, Dec. 5, and Vermont on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Great Danes’ final non-conference game will be at home against Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The Great Danes will open the season at home against Siena on November 10th. They will then travel to take on Syracuse on November 13th, before returning home to host Hartford on November 17th. Brown’s squad will also play two games against in-state rivals Binghamton and Colgate, as well as home games against Holy Cross Marist, and UMass Lowell Additionally, the Great Danes will participate in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, facing off against Penn State in Uncasville, Connecticut on November 23rd, followed by a matchup with either Dayton or Old Dominion on November 24th.

The Great Danes will open the season at home on Tuesday, November 5th against UMass-Lowell before hitting the road for a matchup with Stony Brook on November 10th. Albany will then play five of its next six games at home, beginning with a tilt against BU on November 16th.

After playing host to Niagara on November 23rd, the Danes will travel to Syracuse to take on the Orange on November 27th. UAlbany will wrap up its non-conference slate with three straight home games, starting with a contest against Holy Cross on December 1st.

UAlbany’s conference home games

The University at Albany men’s basketball team will open its 2019-20 season with four straight home games at SEFCU Arena, as part of a 12-game non-conference schedule announced on Wednesday. The Great Danes will host Bryant on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in the season opener followed by a meeting with Colgate on Friday, Nov. 8. UAlbany will then welcome Norfolk State on Tuesday, Nov. 12 and begin a stretch of three games in four days when Boston University visits on Friday, Nov. 15.

The University at Albany men’s Basketball team will play road games at Syracuse, UMass and Notre Dame as part of its non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season, head coach Will Brown announced on Wednesday.

The Great Danes will open the season with an exhibition game against Goldey-Beacom on November 1st at SEFCU Arena. The regular season begins eight days later when UAlbany welcomes Maine to Albany for a 7 p.m. contest.

After playing four of its first five games at home, the Great Danes will make their first road trip of the season when they travel to Syracuse for a 7 p.m. game on November 15th.

UAlbany’s postseason schedule

The University at Albany men’s Basketball Team will play several non-conference games against postseason teams from a year ago, including two NCAA Tournament teams, as part of its 2017-18 schedule, announced on Wednesday.

The Great Danes, who are coming off their sixth consecutive 20-win season and their seventh appearance in the America East Conference Championship game in the last eight years, will play 11 of their first 13 games at home at SEFCU Arena.

UAlbany’s postseason opponents

The University at Albany men’s Basketball team will participate in the 2017 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, it was announced Sunday.

The Great Danes, who earned a share of their sixth America East regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament last weekend, will have a first-round bye in the 24-team CIT before hosting a second-round game on Wednesday, March 15 at SEFCU Arena. UAlbany’s opponent and game time will be announced later this week.

The CIT is in its ninth year of existence and features schools from across the country that did not earn a berth in either the NCAA or National Invitation tournaments. Last year’s field included Bowling Green Bradley, Columbia, Florida Gulf Coast Houston Baptist Lamar, Portland State and UC Riverside.

UAlbany has won nine postseason games over the last four years under Head Coach Will Brown, who is taking the Great Danes to their fifth consecutive postseason berth. The Great Danes have advanced to the second round of three straight postseasons, winning at least one game in each appearance.
