UCSD Tritons

The UCSD Tritons are a Division II Basketball team that compete in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Founded in 1966, the Tritons are one of the newer teams in the conference. However, they have quickly become a force to be reckoned with, winning the CCAA tournament title in 2016 and 2017.

Tritons Basketball

UCSD Tritons men’s basketball team is led by Head Coach Ernie Rodriguez. UCSD plays its home games at RIMAC Arena, which has a seating capacity of 5,102. The arena is located on the campus of the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, California.

The Tritons are members of the Big West Conference and play their conference games against schools like UC Irvine, CSU Fullerton and Long Beach State UCSD finished the 18-19 season with an overall record of 12-18 and a conference record of 5-13. The team did not make it to the 2019 Big West conference tournament

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking for a fun evening out, it’s always good to know when your team is playing. The University of California, San Diego Tritons compete in NCAA Division II basketball, and their games are open to the public. Here’s a rundown of their upcoming schedule.

The Tritons’ first game is on November 9th at home against Point Loma Nazarene University. They play again on the 11th against Concordia University Irvine, also at home. On November 16th, they travel to face California Baptist University and on the 18th they play Chapman University

The Tritons have a busy December, starting with four Home Games On December 2nd they take on Azusa Pacific University followed by Biola University on the 4th. They host Grand Canyon University on the 7th and Concordia University Irvine on the 30th.

January sees the Tritons back on the road for three games. They start with Dixie State University on January 3rd, before heading to San Bernardino to play Cal State San Bernardino on the 5th. They wrap up the month with a game against Point Loma Nazarene University on the 31st.

Things slow down in February with only two games scheduled so far. The Tritons will be at home against Azusa Pacific University on February 1st and then travel to take on Biola University on the 8th.

Basketball

The University of California, San Diego men’s basketball team is set to begin their 2019-20 season on November 5th at home against LA Pierce College. The Tritons will look to build on last year’s success, when they finished with a 20-9 record and made it to the second round of the NCAA Division II tournament.

UCSD will once again be led by senior guard George Buaku, who was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Year last season. Buaku will be joined by a talented group of newcomers, including transfer students Miles Norris (Fresno State) and Matt Mitchell (UC Davis).

The Tritons will play a total of 30 games this season, 15 at home and 15 on the road. They will open conference play on December 5th against Cal Poly Pomona and will look to defend their CCAA title.

Sports

The University of California, San Diego men’s Basketball Schedule is now available. The Tritons will play their first game on November 10th against Cal Poly Pomona. UCSD will also participate in the Big West Conference Tournament, which will be held from March 13-16.

UCSD has seen a resurgence in their men’s Basketball Program in recent years The Tritons have won 20 or more games in four of the last five seasons, including a program-best 24 wins in 2016-17. UCSD has also won the Big West regular season title in two of the last three years.

The Tritons play their home games at RIMAC Arena, which has a capacity of 5,000 fans. UCSD students are known for their passionate support of the basketball team and regularly pack the arena for home games.
