As the 2021-2022 college Basketball season approaches, there are a number of UNC prospects who are being watched closely by NBA scouts Here’s a look at some of the Top Players who could be making the jump to the professional ranks in the next few years.
UNC’s top NBA Prospects for the 2022 Season
This is a list of UNC’s top NBA prospects for the 2022 season. These are the players that are projected to be drafted in the first or second round of the 2022 NBA draft

2022 NBA Mock Draft Where do UNC’s top prospects Stand?
With the 2021 NBA Draft in the rearview mirror, it’s time to start looking ahead to next year’s class. And UNC has a few prospects who could hear their names called early on draft night.
Here’s a look at where some of the Tar Heels’ top prospects stand in 2022 mock drafts
*SF Jalen Wilson 8th (ESPN), 10th (SI), 11th (The Ringer)*
Wilson is one of the top small forwards in the country and has been projected as a lottery pick in most mock drafts He’s a versatile player who can score, rebound and play defense and he should be one of the leaders for UNC next season.
*SG Caleb Love 15th (ESPN), 19th (SI), 21st (The Ringer)*
Love is another versatile player who can do a little bit of everything on the court. He’s an excellent shooter and has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways. He’s expected to be one of the Tar Heels’ go-to scorers next season.
*PF Armando Bacot 23rd (ESPN), 25th (SI), 28th (The Ringer)*
Bacot is one of the best big men in the country and is a force on both ends of the court. He’s an excellent rebounder and rim protector, and he also has shown the ability to score down low. Bacot will be a key player for UNC next season.
UNC’s top NBA Prospects: Who’s Rising and Who’s Falling?
As we head into the 2021-2022 college basketball season here’s a look at UNC’s top NBA prospects and where they stand heading into the season.
Coby White: After a strong freshman season in which he averaged 16 points and 4 rebounds per game White is seen as one of the top freshman prospects in the country. He’s expected to see his draft stock rise even further with a strong sophomore campaign.
R.J. Barrett: Barrett is seen as one of the top prospects in the country regardless of class, and he’s expected to be a high lottery pick whenever he declares for the draft. He’ll look to build on an impressive freshman season in which he averaged 22 points and 7 rebounds per game
Cam Johnson: Johnson is another UNC prospect who is expected to be a high lottery pick whenever he declares for the draft. He’s coming off a senior season in which he averaged 16 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Luke Maye: Maye is UNC’s only senior prospect, and he’s expected to be a late first or early second round pick in next year’s draft. He had a strong junior season, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game.

UNC has several talented players who are expected to be high picks in the 2022 NBA Draft Here are some of the Tar Heels’ top prospects
– PF/C Armando Bacot Jr.: A versatile big man who can score inside and out, Bacot is a potential lottery pick.
– SF/PF Jaylen Brown A gifted athlete with a high motor, Brown is a dangerous scorer and rebounder. He projects as a high first-round pick.
– SG/SF Kerwin Walton: A sharp-shooting wing who can also put the ball on the floor, Walton is a likely first-round pick.
2022 NBA draft UNC’s Top Prospects
The UNC Tar Heels are known for producing some of the best NBA players in the league. In recent years they have produced stars like Anthony Davis De’Aaron Fox, and Marvin Bagley III
It is no surprise then that UNC has several players who are projected to be first-round picks in the 2022 NBA draft Here are UNC’s top prospects for the 2022 season:
1. P.J. Washington: Washington is a 6’8″ forward who was a key member of UNC’s 2017 National Championship team. He is a versatile player who can shoot from long range and also has the strength to finish at the rim. He is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2022 Draft.
2. Jalen Johnson Johnson is a 6’9″ forward who has only played one season at UNC but has already shown himself to be a potential future star. He is an excellent shooter with a High Basketball IQ. He is projected to go in the late first round or early second round of the 2022 Draft.
3. Manny Bates: Bates is a 7’0″center who has excellent shot-blocking ability and fantastic athleticism. He needs to work on his offensive game, but he has all the tools to be a very good NBA player He is projected to go in the second round of the 2022 Draft
UNC’s top prospects for the 2022 NBA Draft Lottery
The UNC Tar Heels have a few top prospects for the upcoming NBA Draft These include PG Cole Anthony SG/SF Scottie Barnes, and C Armando Bacot
Cole Anthony is UNC’s best prospect and is projected to go in the top 3 of the draft. He’s a 6’3″ point guard that averaged 18.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game during his freshman season. His shooting percentages weren’t great (42% from the field and 34% from three), but he did show flashes of being a very good shooter at times. He also has good size for a point guard and is a very good athlete.
Scottie Barnes is another top prospect for UNC. He’s a 6’8″ small forward that can also play some shooting guard During his freshman season, he averaged 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 45% from the field and 37% from three-point range Barnes is a very versatile player that can do a little bit of everything on the court. He’s an excellent defender, rebounder, and passer for his size and has shown the ability to knock down three-pointers at a decent clip.
Armando Bacot is UNC’s third best prospect for the 2022 NBA Draft He’s a 6’10” center that averaged 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 block per game as a freshman while shooting 53% from the field and 68% from the Free Throw Line Bacot is a very good rebounder and blocker for his size and has shown flashes of being able to score inside with some consistency as well
UNC’s top prospects for the 2022 NBA draft Who Will Be the Top Pick?
North Carolina has a rich history of producing Top NBA talent, and the 2022 Draft Class is no different. Here are UNC’s top prospects for the 2022 NBA draft including who is projected to be the top pick.
1. Caleb Love – Point Guard
The 6-foot-4 point guard from Missouri is UNC’s highest rated prospect for the 2022 NBA Draft Love is a true floor general with excellent vision and passing ability. He can score from all three levels and is a willing defender. Love projects as a high-level starting point guard in the NBA.
2. R.J. Davis – Shooting Guard
A 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Georgia, Davis is an excellent scorer and shooter. He’s very athletic and can finish above the rim with ease. Davis needs to work on his defense, but he has all the tools to be a successful two-way player in the NBA.
3. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl – Power Forward
Robinson-Earl is a 6-foot-9 Power Forward from Pennsylvania. He’s a skilled big man who can score inside and out. Robinson-Earl is a good rebounder and defender, and he projects as a solid starter at the Power Forward Position in the NBA.
4. Armando Bacot – Center
Bacot is a 6-foot-10 center from Virginia. He’s a traditional back-to-the basket big man with Good footwork and touch around the basket. Bacot will need to improve his conditioning to max out his potential, but he has all the tools to be a starting center in the NBA

As the 2021 NBA Draft nears, anticipation is building for the loaded class of prospects eligible for the 2022 draft. The University of North Carolina boasts two potential top-five picks in forward P.J. Hairston and center Hassan Whiteside but there are a number of other talented Tar Heels who could hear their names called on draft night. Here’s a look at UNC’s top prospects for the 2022 NBA Draft
P.J. Hairston: A physical 6’6″ wing with a high level of athleticism, Hairston is UNC’s Top Prospect for the 2022 NBA Draft He’s an excellent scorer, capable of getting his shot off against anyone, and he has good range on his jump shot Hairston is also a willing passer and a solid rebounder. His biggest weakness is his defense, which will likely be exploited at the next level.
Hassan Whiteside: A 7-footer with great length and athleticism, Whiteside is one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft. He’s still raw offensively, but he has good touch around the basket and he’s a very good shot blocker. Whiteside needs to add strength and improve his conditioning, but he has all the tools to be a very good player at the next level.
Tony Bradley: A 6’10” big man with a strong frame Bradley is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. He’s not much of an offensive threat right now, but he has good hands and touch around the basket. Bradley needs to add strength and improve his footwork, but he has all the tools to be a very good player at the next level.
Reggie Bullock: A 6’7″ wing with excellent shooting ability, Bullock is one of UNC’s most underrated prospects. He’s a very good shooter from three-point range and he has good length defensively. Bullock needs to add strength and improve his ball handling, but he has all the tools to be a very good player at the next level.
