VCU Baseball Releases Schedule for the Upcoming Season
VCU Baseball has released their schedule for the upcoming season which includes 56 games. The Rams will play 28 games at home and 28 away, with two exhibition games at home against West Virginia on February 22nd and 23rd.
The season opens on the road against East Carolina on February 28th, and the will have their home opener against St. Bonaventure on March 3rd. VCU will play 18 conference games in the Atlantic 10 this season. Some of the key conference series include visits from Davidson (April 3-5), Rhode Island (April 17-19), and a trip to George Mason (May 8-10).
The Rams will also face five teams that participated in last year’s NCAA tournament UNC Wilmington Oklahoma State Virginia Tech Maryland, and Liberty.
The Schedule

The Rams will have their home opener on March 7th when they host Old Dominion for a three-game series. Other notable home games include a three-game set against George Mason (March 21st-23rd), a four-game series against UNC Wilmington (April 4th-7th), and a three-game weekend series against Richmond (May 9th-11th).
The Rams will close out the regular season on the road with a three-game series at Davidson from May 16th-18th. The Atlantic 10 conference tournament is scheduled to begin on May 21st and will be held at Fordham University in Bronx, NY.
The Team
The team, who is coming off a historic 2019 season in which they won the Atlantic 10 conference tournament and made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament will look to build on that success in 2020. Head Coach Shawn Stiffler returns for his sixth season at the helm of the program, and he will be joined by a talented group of players, many of whom played key roles on last year’s team. The schedule features games against some of the best teams in the country, including national powers Vanderbilt and UCLA.
The Fans

The Game
The Virginia Commonwealth University Baseball Team has announced its schedule for the upcoming season The Rams will play a total of 56 games, 27 of which will be at home in The Diamond.
VCU’s season will open on February 15th with a three-game series against Butler at The Diamond. The Rams will then travel to take on William & Mary (Feb. 22-24) before returning home to host Norfolk State (Feb. 28-March 3).
March will see VCU take on some of the top teams in the country, as the Rams have scheduled games against Ole Miss (March 7-9), TCU (March 14-16), and Louisville (March 21-23). The month will conclude with a six-game homestand that features games against James Madison (March 28-30), George Mason (April 1-2), and Rhode Island (April 4-6).
April will be a busy month for VCU, as the Rams have 27 games scheduled during the month. That includes a three-game series at Clemson (April 11-13) and home games against Hofstra (April 18-20) and Richmond (April 25-27). The month will conclude with a five-game road trip that takes VCU to La Salle (May 2), Saint Joseph’s (May 3), Davidson (May 9), and Fordham (May 10-11).
VCU’s regular season will come to a close on May 16th with a home game against VMI. The Rams will then turn their attention to the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament which is set to begin on May 21st in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Season

VCU will face a tough schedule in 2020, with games against several nationally ranked opponents. The Rams will open their season at home against East Carolina who is ranked #19 in the nation by perfect game Other ranked opponents include Louisville (#3), Florida State (#6), Miami (#9), and VCU’s conference rival, UNC Wilmington (#21).
The 2020 campaign will also see the Rams return to the state of Florida for their annual spring break trip. VCU will play eight games in the Sunshine State including four against Florida Atlantic University
The Post-Season
