Webster University’s Basketball team represents the university in collegiate men’s basketball. The team competes in NCAA Division II and is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). They play their home games at Grant Gymnasium, which has a capacity of 2,500.

The Gorloks have appeared in five NCAA tournaments and have a conference tournament record of 5–5. Their combined record is 13–9.

Webster University Basketball – The Championships

Webster University’s Gorloks have been a force to reckon with in basketball ever since the team’s conception. The gorloks have shown their potential and talent on the court by winning an impressive array of championships.

The gorloks have won a total of 10 SLIAC championships, 7 NAIA Division I championships, 1 NAIA Division II championship, and 1 NCAA Division III championship. The gorloks have also made it to the Elite Eight round in the NCAA Division III tournament 6 times.

In addition to all of these team achievements, Webster University’s basketball team has had multiple players receive personal accolades. In 2019, Webster University’s own Jordan Barber was name SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year, and in 2020s – 2030s Dominique Coleman-Hollis was named SLIAC Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-Conference.

Webster University basketball – The Legacy

The Webster University Gorloks Basketball Team is slotted to compete in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) this season. The team holds the record for the most SLIAC tournament appearances with 16 and has won the tournament title six times. They have also qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament five times. Last year, the team had an overall record of 15-12 and were 10-6 in conference play

Webster University Basketball – The Future

The Webster University Gorloks have been a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA Division III for many years.

With a rich history dating back to 1915, the Gorloks have won 16 conference championships and made 11 appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament. Most recently, the team has made back-to-back appearances in the Elite Eight.

Head coach Josh Dzielak has continued the winning tradition of Webster University Basketball and he has his sights set on taking the team even further.

In just his fourth season at the helm, Dzielak has led the Gorloks to a 102-24 record (.810), including a 63-7 (.900) mark over the last three seasons. He has been named Coach of the Year three times by his peers.

Under Dzielak’s leadership, Webster University has established itself as one of the premier programs in Division III basketball. The Gorloks are consistently ranked near the top of both national polls and are regularly featured in major publications such as ESPN and Sports Illustrated

With a strong group of returning players and some highly touted recruits coming in, there is no doubt that Webster University Basketball is poised for continued success in the years to come.
