Introducing the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

Gardner Webb Basketball is excited to introduce our 2020-2021 roster. We have an incredible group of young men who are committed to working hard and representing our program with class and dignity. Get to know our team below.

Forwards/Centers:
* Jaylin Mobley – A 6’9″ forward from Charlotte, NC, Jaylin is a talented player who can shoot and score inside. He is a strong rebounder and shot blocker who will be a key contributor for us this season.
* Isiah Moore – A 6’7″ forward from Atlanta, GA, Isiah is a versatile player who can shoot and play inside. He is an excellent rebounder and defender who will help us in many ways this season.
* Isaiah Wilkins – A 6’8″ center from Raleigh, NC, Isaiah is a big body in the post who can score and rebound. He block shots and will be a key player for us in the paint this season.

Guards:
* Jaheem Douglas – A 6’0″ guard from Charlotte, NC, Jaheem is a quick and explosive guard who can score in a variety of ways. He is also a very good defender and will be a key player for us on both ends of the floor this season.

Get to Know the Team: An Introduction to the Roster

The Gardner Webb Bulldogs are a Division I Basketball team that competes in the Big South Conference The team is led by Head Coach Tim Craft, who is in his sixth season with the Bulldogs. The team plays its home games at the Paul Porter Arena on the campus of Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs North Carolina

The Bulldogs have had a few successful seasons in recent years including a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2018. The 2019-2020 Season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team is hoping to build on its success from previous seasons and make another run at the NCAA Tournament in 2021.

Center: Nazione Sims

Sims is a 6’11” center who hails from Charlotte, North Carolina He is a junior who transferred to Gardner Webb from Charlotte’s Queens University Sims is a very gifted player who has the ability to score both inside and outside the paint. He is also an excellent rebounder and shot blocker.

Forward: D’angelo Baylor

Baylor is a 6’7″ forward from Lithonia, Georgia. He is a sophomore who was previously recruited by some of the nation’s top basketball programs before opting to attend Gardner Webb. Baylor is an extremely athletic player with a great deal of potential. He is an excellent scorer and rebounder, and he has the ability to play both inside and outside the paint.

Guard: Jordan Brown

Brown is a 6’2″ guard from Atlanta, Georgia. He is a freshman who chose to attend Gardner Webb because of its great academic reputation. Brown is an excellent shooter with a High Basketball IQ. He understands the game very well and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Brown is also an excellent defender.

The Rookies of the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

This year, the Gardner Webb Basketball team has five new freshmen on the roster. Here’s a look at the newcomers and what they bring to the team:

Ethan White is a 6’7″ forward from Charlotte, North Carolina He’s a versatile player who can score inside and out.

Devin Dunn is a 6’5″ guard from Atlanta, Georgia. He’s an excellent shooter and a good defender.

Tyler Hilton is a 6’9″ center from Ypsilanti, Michigan. He’s a big body in the middle who can rebound and block shots.

Jake Francis is a 6’3″ guard from Augusta, Georgia. He’s a quick player who can handle the ball and get to the basket.

Trey Grayson is a 6’4″ forward from Lexington, Kentucky. He’s an athletic player who can run the floor and finish at the rim.

The Benchwarmers of the Gardner Webb basketball Roster

The Gardner Webb Basketball Roster has a lot of talented players, but there are a few that are often relegated to the bench. These players may not see a lot of playing time but they play an important role on the team. Here are some of the benchwarmers on the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

Sophomore guard Jordan Barham is one of the top benchwarmers on the team. He is a talented player who has seen limited playing time due to the depth of the team. Barham is a key player for the future and will be counted on to contribute more as he gains experience.

Freshman guard Jairus Lewis is another talented player who has been limited by the depth of the team. Lewis is a gifted scorer and has shown flashes of greatness in practice and in limited game action. He will be counted on to provide a spark off the bench in the coming years.

Junior forward/center David Williams is another player who has seen limited action due to the depth of the team. Williams is a big body who can provide some valuable minutes off the bench. He will be counted on to eat up some minutes in relief of starters in the coming years.

The Coaches of the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

Gardner Webb will have a new head coach this season, as Tim Craft takes over the program. Craft comes to Gardner Webb after spending the last three seasons as an Assistant Coach at Clemson. Prior to his time at Clemson, Craft was the Head Coach at Wofford for six seasons, where he compiled a record of 115-59.

Joining Craft on the Gardner Webb Coaching Staff will be associate Head coach Nate Pomeday and assistant coaches Matt Sligh and Jamar Diggs. Pomeday comes to Gardner Webb after spending the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Appalachian State while Sligh and Diggs both come from UNC Asheville where they were Assistant coaches for the last two seasons.

The Gardner Webb Basketball Roster is a team of young men who are working hard to improve their game. The team is coached by Tim Rudd and consists of 11 players.

The team’s leading scorer is Junior guard David Efianayi, who is averaging 17.5 points per game Sophomore guard Jose Borregales is the team’s second leading scorer, averaging 16.0 points per game Sophomore forward D’Marco Dunn is the team’s third leading scorer, averaging 15.5 points per game

The Gardner Webb Bulldogs are a basketball team that competes in the NCAA Division I. The team is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference and they play their home games at the Paul Porter Arena. The team is currently coached by Tim Craft, and the squad is led by senior guard D’Maurant Mixon.

The Bulldogs roster consists of 14 players, including 12 who are on scholarship. Of the 14 players, 11 are guards and 3 are forwards. The team’s leading scorer is junior guard DJ Laster, who is averaging 15 points per game Other top scorers include Mixon (12.6 ppg), freshman guard Jaheam Cornwall (11.5 ppg), and senior guard David Efianayi (9.5 ppg).

The Gardner Webb Basketball Roster One Season Review

Under second-year head coach Tim Craft, the Gardner Webb Bulldogs basketball team had a successful 2017-2018 season They had a 22-10 overall record and went 12-6 in conference play They finished 3rd in the conference and made it to the semi-finals of the conference tournament The team was led by senior guard David Efianayi who was named first team all-conference. He averaged 18.5 Points per game and shot 41.5% from three-point range Other Key Players included freshman forward Jordan Sears and junior guard Jose Davalos.

The Bulldogs return all but two players from last year’s team and will look to build on their success from last season. Key returners include Efianayi, Sears, and Davalos. They will be joined by a talented group of newcomers that includes freshmen guards Matt Friere and Jaheam Cornwall, and forward Jacob Fallin.

With a mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers, the Bulldogs are poised to have another successful season

The Future of the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

The Gardner Webb Basketball Roster is set to receive a major overhaul in the next few years. With only two seniors on the team, and a number of young players set to return, the future looks bright for the Bulldogs. Here is a look at the future of the Gardner Webb Basketball Roster

Point Guards

The point guard position is perhaps the most important on the court, and the Bulldogs have a number of young players who are ready to take on the role. redshirt freshman D’Marco Dunn is one player to keep an eye on. He has good size and strength for a point guard and he is a very good shooter. He will be competing for playing time with true freshman Tyson Smith, who is an excellent passer and has a High Basketball IQ. Smith will need to add some weight before he is ready to compete at the Division I level, but he has the potential to be a very good player

Shooting Guards

The shooting guard position is one that is currently in flux for the Bulldogs. Senior Jordan Sears will likely see most of the minutes at this position this season, but his time as a starter is coming to an end. The Bulldogs will be looking for someone to step up and take his place in the starting lineup next season, and there are a few players who have the potential to do so. Freshman Fletcher Abee is one player who could see significant playing time at shooting guard next season. He is an excellent shooter with good size and athleticism. Another player to keep an eye on is sophomore Uncas Donovan, who has good shooting range and also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the basket.

Forwards

The Bulldogs have a number of talented young forwards who are ready to make an impact on the court. Freshman Isaiah Wilkins is one player who could see significant playing time next season. He is an excellent rebounder with a high motor, and he also has good offensive skills. Freshman Jonathan Baehre is another player who could see significant minutes next season. He is long and athletic, and he has good rebounding instincts. Sophomore David Efianayi will also be competing for playing time after seeing limited action as a freshman last season. He has good size and strength, and he is improving as a shooter.
