Eastern Conference

The Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is one of two conferences that makes up the league, the other being the Western Conference Like the Western Conference the Eastern Conference is made up of 15 teams, organized in three divisions.

The 201819 NBA season is the 73rd season of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The regular season began on October 16, 2018 and will end on April 10, 2019. The playoffs will begin on April 13, 2019, and will end sometime in June 2019.

Western Conference

The Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is one of two conferences that makes up the association, the other being the Eastern Conference Like the Eastern Conference the Western Conference is made up of 15 teams, organized in three divisions.

Central Division

The Central Division is a division of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Eastern Conference The division consists of five teams, and its current members are the Milwaukee Bucks the Detroit Pistons the Indiana Pacers the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls

As of the 18-19 season the divisional champion is the Milwaukee Bucks The Bucks have won three NBA championships (1971, 1972, and 1974), while the second-place team in terms of championships is the Chicago Bulls with six (1991-93 and 1996-98).

The Southeast Division is a division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams: the Charlotte Hornets the Miami Heat the Orlando Magic the Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards

As of the 201819 season, the Southeast Division has generally been considered one of the weaker divisions in the NBA. Only three teams in the division have won an NBA Championship (the Heat in 2006, 2012 and 2013; and the Hornets in 2020), and only six teams have made it to the NBA Finals (the Heat in 2006, 2011, 2012, 2020; and the Hornets in 2021).

Northwest Division

The Northwest Division was created prior to the 197071 NBA season when the league expanded from 17 to 23 teams with the addition of the Buffalo Braves, Cleveland Cavaliers Houston Rockets Milwaukee Bucks and San Diego Conquistadors. The league realigned itself into two conferencesthe Eastern Conference and the Western Conferenceand four divisionsthe Atlantic Division Central Division Midwest Division, and Pacific Divisionas a result of the NBA merger At that time, the Midwest Division became the only division in each conference with five teams.

The Northwest Division began to take its current form when the Vancouver Grizzlies relocated to Memphis and became the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001. The Grizzlies were replaced by the expansion Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) in 2004. In 2008, the Seattle SuperSonics relocated to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder; as a result of this move, every team in this division is now located west of Colorado.

Pacific Division

The Pacific Division is one of the three divisions in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers Phoenix Suns Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors

Atlantic Division

The Atlantic Division is one of the three divisions in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams: the Boston Celtics Brooklyn Nets New York Knicks Philadelphia 76ers, and Toronto Raptors

Southwest Division

The Southwest Division is one of the three divisions in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, and is one of two divisions in the Western Conference with four teams. The division was created at the start of the 200405 NBA season when the Charlotte Hornets relocated to New Orleans.

The Southwest Division currently has no team with a winning record. The Houston Rockets have won the division a record 10 times, while the Memphis Grizzlies have won it twice. As of 2019, the Pelicans have never won a division title.

NBA Finals

The NBA Finals is the Championship Series of the National Basketball Association (NBA).[1] The Eastern and Western Conference champions play each other in a best-of-seven game series.[2] The team with the most wins in a series advances to the next round, until eventually the winning team of the Finals is crowned the NBA Champion [3]

The NBA Finals was first played in 1947, between the Philadelphia Warriors and the Chicago Stags (now the Basketball Association of America). The BAA became the NBA after absorbing teams from the National Basketball League in 1949. The first appearance by a Western Conference team was in 1951, when the Rochester Royals (now the Sacramento Kings) lost to the New York Knicks Since 1984, when NBAplayoffs expanded to include sixteen teams from both conferences, eight teams have advanced to playing in The Finals; those eight teams have come from either conference five times each.

NBA Draft

The NBA draft is an annual event dating back to 1947 in which the (now thirty) teams from the National Basketball Association (NBA) can draft players who are eligible and wish to join the league. These are typically young players who have recently finished their season of play with a college or professional team. The draft order is randomized, and each team gets one pick per round. The draft consists of two rounds, and 60 total selections.
