I signed with the New York Yankees as an international free agent out of Cuba in 2014. I spent a few years in the minors, and made my MLB debut in 2017. I’ve been with the Yankees ever since.

I just try to get a good jump and use my speed to my advantage. I know that I can beat out a lot of throws, so I just try to put pressure on the defense.
3. You’re also known for your highlight-reel catches in center field – how do you approach playing defense?
I take a lot of pride in my defense. I just try to read the ball off the bat and get a good jump on it. I want to make sure that I make all the catches that I can, and help my team win games.
4. What would you say is your best asset as a player?
I think my speed is my best asset. It helps me on both Offense and defense and it’s something that I’ve worked hard to develop.
