-Tommy Demison: Point Guard
-A native of New York, Tommy is a 5th year senior and one of the co-captains of the team. He is known for his quickness and agility on the court.

-Moses Wood: Shooting Guard
-Moses is a junior transfer from IUPUI. He is a very accurate shooter and has a great basketball IQ.

-BJ Goodson: Small Forward
-BJ is a versatile player who can play both the small forward and Power Forward positions. He is a senior and one of the team’s co-captains.

-Will Smith: Power Forward/Center
-Will is a 6’10” freshman from Dallas, Texas. He has great size and athleticism and is still adjusting to the college game.

Canisius Basketball Roster Meet the Team

The Canisius College Golden Griffins men’s basketball team represents Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. The program is classified in the NCAA’s Division I, and the team competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference

Coach Jim Baron has been at the helm of the Griffs since 2010, and has led the team to two postseason appearances. Under his leadership, the team has seen a number of talented student-athletes take the court.

This year’s roster includes:

-Isaiah Reese: A sophomore guard from Rochester, New York, Reese was named MAAC Rookie of the Year last season. He was also named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team and Second Team. Reese is one of Baron’s Key Players and should have another strong season this year.

-Jared Brownridge: A senior guard from Anaheim, California, Brownridge is a three-time All-MAAC selection. He was named First Team All-MAAC last season after averaging 20 points per game Brownridge is also Canisius’ All-time leading scorer, with 1,760 points. He will be a key player for the Griffs this season as they look to make a run at the MAAC title.

-Titus Rubles: A senior forward from Euclid, Ohio, Rubles is a two-time MAAC All-Defensive team selection. He averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds per game last season and will be counted on to provide leadership and defense for Canisius this year.

Canisius will look to these three players to lead them to success this season. With Reese and Brownridge providing scoring punch and Rubles anchoring the defense, the Griffs should be a tough team to beat in the MAAC this year.

The Canisius Golden Griffins men’s Basketball team represents Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. The team currently competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Golden Griffins are currently coached by Reggie Witherspoon.

Chris Perez – Guard

Perez is a 6’2″ guard from Bronx, New York. He averaged 10.5 points per game and 4.0 assists per game last season. He will be looking to build on those numbers this season as he takes on a larger role in the offense.

Isaiah Reese – Guard

Reese is a 6’4″ guard from Rochester, New York. He averaged 9.5 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game last season. Reese is a solid all-around player who will be counted on to provide leadership on and off the court this season.

Jalen Boyd – Forward

Boyd is a 6’7″ forward from Brooklyn, New York. He averaged 8.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game last season. Boyd is a versatile player who can contribute in a variety of ways. He will be looked to for his scoring and rebounding this season.
Replacement players include: Robinson Idehen (Forward), Kevin Thai (Guard), Jordan Heath (Forward), and Matt Scott (Guard).

Pete Accursi
Pete Accursi is far and away the leading scorer in Canisius history. He played for the Griffs from 1979-1983 and finished his career with 2,571 points. He was a three-time All-American and was named the ECAC Player of the Year in 1983.

Danny Brian
Danny Brian was a member of Canisius’ first ever NCAA Tournament team in 1956. He was a two-time All-American and finished his career with 1,764 points.

Tom Kieswetter
Tom Kieswetter is one of only two Canisius players to have their jersey retired. He played for the Griffs from 1969-1973 and was a two-time All-American. He finished his career with 1,621 points and is still the second leading scorer in school history.
