As the CBC basketball team looks to defend their conference title there are a few key returners that fans should keep an eye on.
Leading the way is point guard Marcus Paige, who averaged 16 points and 4 assists per game last season. Paige is a shifty guard who can get to the basket at will and has a knack for hitting Big Shots in clutch situations. He will be counted on to provide leadership for a youngCBC team that lost several Key Players from last year’s squad.
Also returning is forward Luke Kennard, who was one of the most improved players in the conference last season. Kennard increased his scoring average by nearly 7 points per game and his rebounding average by almost 3 boards per contest. He will be looked to as a primary scoring option this season and should see his numbers increase even more as he continues to develop his all-around game.
Rounding out the key returners is center Willy Hernangomez, who averaged a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) last season. Hernangomez is one of the best low-post defenders in the conference and gives CBC a much-needed presence in the paint. He will once again be asked to shoulder a heavy load on both ends of the floor as CBC looks to make another deep postseason run.
