-September 22nd: The New York Yankees travel to take on the Boston Red Sox in what is always one of the most highly anticipated series of the year.
The Teams
In baseball, teams are grouped into divisions within their respective leagues. The American League has 14 teams divided into East, West, and Central divisions. The National League has 16 teams that are divided into East, West, and Central divisions. There are also interleague games in which teams from each league play one another.

The Green Jacket baseball schedule is out, and fans are already mapping out their game plans. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking to catch a game or two, here’s your guide to the season.
The Jackets will open the season on the road against the defending champions, the New York Yankees They’ll play three games in Yankeeland before coming home to Boston for their home opener on April 10th against the Baltimore Orioles From there, it’s a mix of home and away games until mid-August.
The Jackets have some key divisional matchups early in the season, including a seven-game stretch against the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays in late April/early May. They’ll also host the Cubs for four games in early June.
Interleague play will see the Jackets travel to Toronto for two games in early May, and then host the Blue Jays for three games in mid-July. The biggest interleague series of the year will be at Wrigley Field when the Jackets take on the Cubs for four games in late September.
The final month of the season will be critical for the Jackets as they battle for a playoff spot. They’ll close out the Regular Season at home against division rivals Tampa Bay and Baltimore.
