The Linn Benton Community College Baseball Team is a NJCAA Division II baseball team that competes in the Northwest Athletic Conference The team is based in Albany, Oregon, United States The team plays its home games at David Douglas High School in Portland, Oregon.

LBCC baseball coaching staff

The Linn-Benton Community college baseball Coaching Staff is comprised of four full-time coaches. Head Coach Ryan Brown is entering his ninth season at the helm of the program. Brown has led the team to five conference championships and three appearances in the NWAC Baseball Tournament Assistant Coach Aki Aleong is in his first season with the program and serves as the team’s pitching coach. assistant coach Sam Heilman is also in his first season with LBCC and serves as the team’s hitting coach. assistant coach Lane Powell rounds out the staff and is in his fifth season with the program.

LBCC baseball facilities

Linn Benton Community College has some of the best baseball facilities in the Northwest. The main facility is Max Baer Park, located just off Highway 20 in Albany. The park has four baseball fields a clubhouse, and a concession stand There is also a practice field next to the park.

The college also has a baseball stadium located on the south end of campus. The stadium seats 1,500 people and has a concession stand and restrooms.

LBCC baseball recruiting process

The Linn Benton Community College baseball team has a rigorous recruiting process In order to be considered for the team, potential recruits must go through a series of tryouts and interviews. The tryouts are open to all potential recruits, and the interviews are conducted by the coaching staff

During the tryouts, potential recruits will be evaluated on their skills and physical abilities. The Coaching Staff will also be looking for players who are coachable and have a Good Attitude After the tryouts, the coaching staff will select a certain Number of players to interview.

During the interview process, potential recruits will be asked about their baseball experience their goals for their college career, and why they want to play for LBCC. The Coaching Staff will also be looking for players who are committed to academic success and who have good character.

After the interviews have been conducted, the coaching staff will choose the final team.

Linn-Benton Community College Head baseball coach Doug Schaffer and his staff are committed to the development of their players both on and off the field. The goal of the LBCC baseball program is to prepare student-athletes for success at the four-year level and beyond.

LBCC offers a competitive environment where players can develop their skills and knowledge of the game. The LBCC baseball staff provides quality instruction, while also emphasizing the importance of academic success. The LBCC Baseball Program has a long history of success, winning conference championships in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 . In addition to conference titles, LBCC has made ten appearances in the NJCAA World Series (1984 – second place finish; 1985; 1986; 1987; 1988; 1989 – third place finish; 1990; 1991 – third place finish; 1992 – fourth place finish).

LBCC baseball alumni

LBCC baseball alumni have gone on to achieve great things in their baseball careers. Matt Chapman an infielder for the Oakland Athletics was drafted in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the A’s. He made his MLB debut in 2017 and was named to the American League All-Star team in 2019.

Other notable alumni include Scott Radinsky (Los Angeles Dodgers), Scott Downs (Toronto Blue Jays), and Brandon Kintzler (Miami Marlins).

Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) baseball is committed to giving back to the community. We partner with local organizations to provide opportunities for children and families to participate in baseball clinics, meet-and-greet events with players and coaches and other special events. Our goal is to make baseball accessible and enjoyable for everyone in our community.

LBCC baseball media coverage

Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) is set to receive increased media coverage of its baseball program thanks to a new partnership with Mid-Valley Sports Network (MVSN).

The two-year agreement will see MVSN provide live and pre-recorded coverage of all home games as well as selected away games, on its flagship station, KOTI-TV. In addition, MVSN will produce a 30-minute weekly highlights show that will air on Sundays at 10:30 am.

“This is a great opportunity for our Baseball Program to gain more visibility in the community,” said LBCC Athletic Director Brad Gilbert. “We’re excited to partner with MVSN and we’re looking forward to having our games broadcast to a wider audience.”

MVSN General Manager Steve Beasley echoed Gilbert’s sentiments, stating that “LBCC baseball is a great addition to our lineup of college sports programming. We’re committed to providing comprehensive coverage of all the local teams that our viewers care about and we’re excited to add LBCC baseball to the mix.”

LBCC baseball has diehard supporters that attend every Home game and follow the team on the road. The Community College typically draws a large crowd of enthusiasm baseball fans that are there to support their team. Despite the lack of a big-time budget or flashy new facility, LBCC’s Baseball Team has some of the most dedicated fans in all of community college baseball

LBCC baseball is coming off a tough season, but there is plenty of optimism for the future.

The team has a strong core of young players and with some additional recruiting, the team should be competitive in the coming years.

The coaching staff is very excited about the potential of the team and is looking forward to seeing what they can do in the future.
