Who Won?

In basketball, the winning team is the one that scores the most points. However, in some cases, the score may be tied at the end of regulation time. In this case, an additional period of play, called overtime, is used to determine the winner.

The most common type of overtime is played until one team has outscored the other by a margin of two points or more. This is known as Sudden death overtime. If the score is still tied after five minutes of Sudden death overtime, each team is given one more chance to score, starting with a jump ball at center court. This process continues until one team finally wins.

Another type of overtime that is sometimes used is called continuous play. In this case, play continues until one team has scored more points than the other team by a margin of two points or more. The clock is not stopped during continuous play and teams can score as many points as they can in the time allotted.

Finally, there is a third type of overtime that is sometimes used to determine a winner in basketball games This type of overtime is called Golden Goal and it works like this: The first team to score during overtime wins the game, regardless of what the final score may be. Golden Goal is often used in nt play where there can be no ties allowed.

Whichever type of overtime is being used, it is important to remember that the final score will determine who won the game.

MVC Basketball Roster

Cinderella stories are what make March Madness so special. A tiny school taking on Goliath and winning. Unfortunately for the underdogs, the story usually doesn’t have a happy ending. In the Missouri Valley Conference Cinderella is more often than not Loyola University Chicago.

The basketball team from the Windy City has been a thorn in the side of MVC powerhouses like Wichita State and Illinois State for years. The Ramblers have been to the NCAA tournament four times since 2011 and made a surprising run to the Final Four in 2018.

This year, Loyola is once again one of the smaller schools in the conference, but they are off to a strong start. The Ramblers have a record of 17-4 and are currently in second place in the conference behind only Bradley University.

Loyola’s two leading scorers are junior guard Marques Townes and senior forward Donte Ingram. Townes is averaging 16 points per game while Ingram is adding 14 points and seven rebounds per contest. The Ramblers also have solid contributions from sophomore center Cameron Krutwig and junior guard Clayton Custer.

So far this season, Loyola has wins over Wisconsin, Notre Dame TCU, and Florida Gulf Coast They have losses to Oklahoma State Boston College Northern Iowa, and Indiana State

The Ramblers have a tough road ahead if they want to make it back to the NCAA Tournament this year, but don’t count them out just yet. They have proved time and time again that they can hang with anyone in the country.
