George had been at the center of trade rumors for months and had been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics among other teams. But the Thunder moved quickly to acquire him after he informed the Pacers that he planned to become a free agent after next season.

The move gives the Thunder a potential “Big Three” of George, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony which should make them a contenders in the Western Conference

For the Pacers, Oladipo is a young guard who can help them rebuild while Sabonis is a promising young big man.
