The Rochester Institute of Technology men’s Hockey Team will look to build on their success from last season when they take to the ice for the 2019-20 campaign. The Tigers are coming off a 23-win season in which they earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament RIT is hoping to take the next step this season and make a run at the program’s first ever National Championship

RIT will open up their season at home against Niagara on October 5th. The Tigers will then hit the road for a pair of games, taking on Colgate on October 11th and 12th. RIT will return home for a three-game homestand against Mercyhurst on October 18th and 19th and then Buffalo State on October 26th.

The Tigers will then have another three-game road trip this time taking on conference foes Bentley and Holy Cross RIT will wrap up their October schedule with a Home game against Army on the 31st.

In November, RIT will have four home games and five away games. The Tigers will open up the month with a home game against Air Force before hitting the road for two games against Robert Morris RIT will return home for games against Canisius and Sacred Heart before heading back out on the road for matchups with Mercyhurst and Niagara. The Tigers will then close out their November schedule with two home games one against AIC and one against Bentley.

RIT will start December with three consecutive road games, beginning with a December 6th contest at Holy Cross The Tigers will then take on Army before wrapping up their road trip with a game at Colgate on December 14th. RIT will return home for holiday break after that, not playing again until January 3rd when they host Sacred Heart

The Rochester Institute of Technology’s men’s Ice Hockey team will look to continue their winning ways in the 2019-2020 season The Tigers are coming off a successful 2018-2019 campaign in which they posted a 21-11-4 overall record and finished second in the Atlantic Hockey conference with a 14-6-4 conference mark. RIT will look to build on that success this season as they compete in one of the most competitive conferences in college hockey

The Tigers will open their 2019-2020 campaign at home against Mercyhurst on October 5th. RIT will then hit the road for a two-game series at Air Force before returning home to host Canisius on October 18th. The Tigers will close out the month of October with a two-game road trip to Connecticut to take on Sacred Heart

In November, RIT will once again compete in the annual neutrally hosted Catamount Cup tournament. The tournament, which is hosted by the University Of Vermont will take place on November 29th and 30th and will feature four teams from around college hockey RIT is scheduled to take on Northeastern in their first game of the tournament before taking on either Colgate or Vermont in their second game.

The Tigers will open up December with a home series against Bentley before hitting the road for games at Sacred Heart and Holy Cross RIT will then return home for a three-game homestand that features conference matchups against AIC, Army, and Robert Morris The Tigers will close out 2019 with a December 31st matchup at Clarkson.

RIT will take on Canisius in their first game of 2020 before embarking on a five-game road trip that includes stops at Air Force Holy Cross Sacred Heart Robert Morris and Niagara. The Tigers return home for just one game on January 25th when they host Army before hitting the road again for games at Mercyhurst and Niagara.

Oct. 6: RIT vs. Army

RIT vs. Clarkson University – October 11-12, 2019
Clarkson is coming off of a disappointing 2018-2019 season in which they failed to make the NCAA Tournament but they are still a talented team that should not be taken lightly. These two teams have met 34 times previously, with RIT holding a 19-11-4 all-time record against Clarkson. These will be two critical games for RIT as they look to start the season off on the right foot in conference play

RIT vs. Colgate University – October 18, 2019
This will be another crucial conference matchup for RIT as they take on a Colgate team that is always near the top of the standings. The Raiders are coming off of a season in which they won the ECAC regular season title and made it to the NCAA tournament regional semifinals before losing to eventual National Champion Massachusetts. RIT has had success against Colgate in recent years, winning six of their last seven meetings dating back to 2016.

This will be RIT’s first ever game against Niagara as they make the short trip down Lewiston Rd to take on their new Division I rivals. The Purple Eagles are coming off of a solid 2018-2019 campaign in which they finished second in Atlantic Hockey and made it to the conference tournament semifinals before losing to eventual champion Robert Morris. Oct. 6 vs. Niagara: The Tigers open up their season at home against Niagara. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2013, when RIT won 5-2.

Oct. 12 vs. Bentley: Bentley comes to town for the first time since 2015, when the Tigers won 3-1. RIT has had success against Bentley in recent years, winning three of the last four meetings between the two teams.
