It’s been a long road for the Tulane mens basketball team but they’ve finally made it to the NCAA tournament After finishing the regular season with a record of 21-12, the team secured their spot in the tournament with a 62-59 win over Houston in the American Athletic conference tournament
Now, the Green Wave will face off against Mississippi State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, March 15. The game will tip off at 6:27 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on truTV.
This is Tulane’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1995, and they’ll be looking to make a run deep into the bracket. The team is led by seniors Melvin Frazier and Cameron Reynolds, who have both been key contributors all season long
In order to advance to the second round, Tulane will have to get past a Mississippi State team that finished the regular season with a record of 24-10. The Bulldogs are led by senior guard Quinndary Weatherspoon, who averaged 18.5 points per game during the Regular Season

After enduring one of the longest droughts in NCAA tournament history, the Tulane mens Basketball team is back in the big dance for the first time since 1995. This Sunday, Selection Sunday, is when all 68 teams find out their fate and are placed into the bracket. It’s been a long road for the Tulane Men’s Basketball team but they’ve finally made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament The team has had an impressive season, with a record of 26-6. They finished the Regular Season as co-champions of the American Athletic Conference and they were ranked as high as #9 in the nation. In the NCAA tournament they beat Iowa State in the first round, and then upset 2nd-seeded Oklahoma in the second round. Now, they’ll face off against 3rd-seeded Syracuse in the Sweet Sixteen
The game will be played on Thursday, March 28th at 7:15 pm ET. It will be broadcast on CBS.

The first step for the team is to win their Conference tournament This will earn them an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament The team has already done this by winning the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
Now that they have earned their spot in the tournament, they will need to prepare for their first game. The team has a few days to rest and practice before their first game against Temple.
The next step for the team is to win their first NCAA tournament game. This would be a huge accomplishment for the program and would give them a lot of momentum going forward.
If the team can win their first game, they will most likely face off against Duke in the second round. Duke is one of the best teams in the country and would be a tough opponent. However, if the team can play like they did all season, they have a chance to win this game and advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
The Sweet Sixteen is where things get really difficult for teams. Only sixteen teams remain in the tournament at this point and every game is extremely important. If Tulane can win their Sweet Sixteen game, they would most likely face Kentucky in the Elite Eight. Kentucky is another one of the best teams in College Basketball and would be a very difficult matchup. However, if Tulane can play with heart and determination, they have a chance to pull off an upset and make it to the Final Four.
The Final Four is where anything can happen. It is single elimination at this point and any team can win it all. If Tulane can make it to this point, they will have accomplished something that no one thought was possible at the beginning of the season. From here, anything can happen and Tulane will be fighting for a National Championship
