The Salve Women’s basketball team is made up of four core players. The team’s captain is Jada Buckley, a 5’9″ guard from Rhode Island Jada is a three-point specialist and an excellent defender. The other starting guard is Amy Griffin, a 5’8″ guard from Massachusetts. Amy is a very versatile player who can score inside and out. The starting forwards are Emily Porcaro, a 6’0″ forward from Rhode Island and Katie O’Reilly, a 6’1″ forward from Massachusetts. Emily and Katie are both excellent rebounders and shot blockers. Coach prime is a native of Rhode Island and a graduate of Salve Regina. She played basketball for the Seahawks from 1999-2003 and was part of the team that won the conference championship in 2001. She began her coaching career as an Assistant Coach at her alma mater before moving on to Brown University, where she served as an assistant coach for four seasons.

Under Coach prime’s leadership, the Seahawks have become one of the top teams in Division III They are known for their fast-paced, up-tempo style of play and their tenacious defense. Coach prime has instilled a new level of competitiveness in her team, and they are poised to continue their ascent in the ranks of Division III basketball.

The team’s style of play

The Salve Regina University women’s basketball team has been on the rise ever since head coach Steve Monaclone took over the program in 2012. The team has compiled a record of 85-42 under Monaclone’s guidance, and has reached the NCAA Division III Tournament in each of the last four seasons.
