The Citadel basketball team is Division 1 and part of the Southern Conference The Bulldogs had a strong showing last season and are looking to continue their winning ways. Here is a look at some of the key returning players along with what to expect from them this season.

Quarterbacking the team is Junior Matt Frierson. The 6’4” shooting guard from Orlando, Florida is coming off of a strong sophomoric campaign in which he averaged 14 points per game While his scoring may not be eye-popping, his efficient 47% shooting from downtown was good for second best on the team. Leading the way down low is 6’8” Senior center Hayden Latham. He averaged 12 points per game last season while shooting an solid 38% from three-point range

Off the bench, keep an eye out for 6’1” point guard Kaiden Rice and 6’5” power forward Zane Najdawi. Both players are key contributors that bring energy and firepower when they enter the game. Kaiden Rice, a sophomore from Dothan, Alabama, provides solid ball handling and outside shooting while Zane Najdawi, a senior from Charleston, South Carolina gives the team a boost in rebounding and interior scoring .
