G Marcus Williams 6’2” 185 Sr.
Marcus is a solid all-around player that does a little bit of everything for the team. He averaged 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game last season. Marcus is a good shooter from long range and is also very adept at getting to the basket and finishing in traffic.

F/C Troy Jenkins 6’8” 240 Jr.
Troy provides a big presence in the post for the team. He averaged 8 points and 6 rebounds per game last season while shooting over 50% from the field. Troy is a strong player that does a good job of holding his ground down low and scoring in close.

As the Dillard High school Panther’s basketball team starts their season, fans and supporters are getting ready for game days. Eighty-five percent of the games this season will be away, so fans will have to make an effort to attend the home games The school is encouraging parents and other relatives to come out and support the team by providing a fan bus to some of the games.

No student buses will be provided, as most away games are during school hours. Principal James Williams stated, “It’s important for us to have a strong showing of support at our home games and we want to make it as easy as possible for our fans to get there.” The first Home game is on December 12th against Carroll high school the game starts at 7:00 pm.

Overall, the team had a winning record of 19-15. They were 11-5 in conference play and 8-10 in non-conference play

In the post-season, the team had a record of 2-1. They won their first game against West Lauderdale, but lost their next game against Pace. However, they bounced back and won their third game against Choctawhatchee.

The team’s leading scorer was senior guard Jamaal Samuel, who averaged 22 points per game Senior forward Marcus James was right behind him with an average of 17 points per game

The team will lose several Key Players to graduation, but with a strong core of returning players, we can expect them to be contenders again next season.
