Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Team

The Juniata women’s basketball team is gearing up for another successful season The team is led by Head Coach Julie Jaskolski, who is entering her sixth season at the helm of the program.

The Eagles have made the postseason in each of the past five years, and are coming off a stellar 2017-18 campaign in which they won 25 games and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division III tournament.

This year’s squad features a mix of experienced veterans and talented newcomers. The team will be looking to build on last year’s success and make another deep run in the postseason.

Returning Players:
Gammad, Kayla – Senior guard who was named first-team All-Landmark Conference last season. averaged 13.2 points per game and shot 42 percent from three-point range
Eliason, Madison – Senior forward who was Juniata’s leading scorer and rebounder last season. Averaged 16.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49 percent from the field.
Hilty, Shelby – Junior guard who averaged 11.2 points and 4.2 assists per game last season. A key player on both ends of the court for Juniata.
Kendig, Kourtney – Senior forward who appeared in all 33 games last season and averaged 6.8 points per game while shooting 42 percent from three-point range.
Nolan, Bridget – Sophomore guard who saw action in 28 games as a freshman and averaged 5.1 points per contest.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Players

The Juniata women’s basketball team is composed of student-athletes who are dedicated to the game and their studies. The team is made up of players from all over the country, with varied backgrounds and experiences. This season, the team is looking to build on last year’s successful campaign and make a run at the conference title

The team is led by senior captain Emily Anderson, who is a native of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Anderson has been a starter for Juniata since her freshman year, and she has been a key contributor to the team’s success over the past three years. She is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and play defense at a high level. Anderson will be looked to as a leader both on and off the court this season.

Juniata also returns junior forward Abby Giuliano, who was an All-Conference selection last year. Giuliano is a physical presence in the post who can score inside and out. She averaged double-figures in points and rebounds last season, and she will be counted on to be one of the team’s top scorers and rebounders again this year.

Sophomore guard Paige write returns after an impressive freshman campaign in which she was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Wright is an excellent shooter who can also create her own shot off the dribble. She will be one of the team’s primary scoring options this season.”

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Coaches

As the winter sports season looms on the horizon, the Juniata women’s Basketball team is preparing for what looks to be a promising campaign. The team is led by head coach Jenna Dages, who enters her second season at the helm. Coach Dages is a native of Altoona, PA and a graduate of Penn State University She is joined by assistant coaches Lindsey Cole and Kelsey Hoffman.

Coach Dages will look to improve upon last year’s record of 12-14 (7-9 in conference play), which saw the team just fall short of qualifying for the Landmark conference tournament The team will look to seniors Alexa StOVER (Altoona, PA/Altoona Area) and Shelby Shoup (Mt. Union, PA/Mt. Union Area) to provide leadership and a steady hand on the court. Both players were key contributors last season and will be counted on again this year.

The team will also look to its junior class for production, as they will be asked to step up in a big way. Guards Sam Miyamoto (Honolulu, HI/Iolani School) and Morgan Johns (Richmond, VA/Trinity Episcopal) will be counted on to provide scoring and perimeter defense while center Claire GRUBBS (West Chester PA/Bayard Rustin) will be relied upon to control the paint on both ends of the court.

The team should also benefit from the addition of some talented freshmen, who will add depth and competition for playing time Forwards Macy Lehman (York Springs, PA/York Catholic) and Jordan Hufnagle (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern York) both figure to see significant time on the court this season, while guard Emily Mylott (Dallastown, PA/Dallastown Area) will provide an extra spark off the bench.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Fans

The main goal for the Women’s basketball team this season is to make it to the NCAA Division III tournament. The team has made it to the tournament six times in school history, but haven’t won a game. They will have their work cut out for them, but with a strong fan base backing them up, they have a chance to make some noise.

The fans are some of the most dedicated in Division III basketball. They are known for being rowdy and creative, and they always travel well. No matter where the team is playing, there is always a contingent of Juniata fans in attendance.

This season, the fans will be looking to see if the team can take the next step and win a game in the NCAA tournament If they can do that, it would be a huge accomplishment for the program and would cement their place among the best teams in Division III basketball.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Media

As the season quickly approaches, the team is preparing for their first game on November 15th. The women’s basketball team at Juniata College will look to have a successful season and build off of their momentum from last year. One way they will look to do that is by continuing to get better each and every day.

“We just have to keep getting better every day,” said Head Coach Kevin McKeehan. “Everybody has to buy in and everybody has to be willing to work. We’ll see where it takes us.”

The team will also look to receive more media attention this season. In years past, the team has been one of the more underrated teams in Division III basketball. However, this year they are receiving more attention than ever before.

“It’s been great,” said McKeehan of the increased media attention. “It’s something that we’re not used to, but it’s something that we’re definitely embracing. We’re just trying to get better every day and hopefully the results will take care of themselves.”

With a new season comes new expectations. The Juniata women’s basketball team will look to exceed all expectations and have a successful season both on and off the court.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Game

The Juniata Women’s Basketball team is set to take the court for their first game of the season on November 15, 2019. The team is coming off of a successful 2018-2019 campaign in which they finished with a record of 18-9. The team will look to build on this success and take things to the next level this season.

The team is coached by Head coach Brian Martin, who is entering his seventh season at the helm of the program. Coach Martin has led the team to five winning seasons during his tenure, including two seasons with 20 or more wins.

The team will be led by a group of experienced and talented players, including seniors Hannah Hildebrand ( guard) and Melissa Toomey (forward). Toomey was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team last season after averaging 11.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game Hildebrand, who averaged 8.9 points per game last season, will look to provide a spark on both ends of the court for the team this season.

Other key returners for the team include junior Gabby Piccolino (guard) and sophomore Mackenzie Wise (guard/forward). Piccolino was named Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 9.8 points per game Wise will look to build on a successful freshman campaign in which she averaged 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

The team will also rely on a group of talented newcomers this season, including freshmen Kennedy Mullen (forward) and Ally Frantz (guard). Mullen comes to Juniata from Saint Joseph Central Catholic High School where she was a four-year starter and led her team to two district championships. Frantz comes to Juniata from Northern Lebanon high school where she was a three-year starter and helped her team win a district championship during her senior year.

With a mix of experienced returners and talented newcomers, the Juniata Women’s Basketball Team has all of the pieces in place for a successful 2019-2020 campaign!

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Season

The Juniata women’s Basketball team is set to tip off its season on November 5th, 2019. The team is coming off a successful 2018-2019 campaign in which they finished with a 20-8 record, good for second place in the Landmark Conference. The team will look to build on that success this season and compete for a conference championship

The team is led by senior captain Amari Johnson. Johnson was named First Team All-Landmark Conference last season after averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds per game. She will be joined by fellow seniors Sarah Novak and Alyssa Maurer in the starting lineup The three seniors will provide the team with experience and leadership as they look to make a run at the conference title.

The team will also rely heavily on junior guard Katie Ensley, who was named Second Team All-Landmark Conference last season. Ensley averaged 12 Points per game last season and will be tasked with carrying much of the offensive load for the team this season.

The Juniata women’s Basketball team has high aspirations for the 2019-2020 Season With experienced leadership and a talented group of players, the team is poised to make a run at the conference title.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Post-Season

As the Juniata women’s basketball team looks ahead to the post-season, they will be focused on improving upon their record from last year. The team finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-12, and they are looking to improve upon that this year.

The team has a strong core of returners, including leading scorer Ali Smith and leading rebounder Alexya Brucker. They will be joined by a talented group of newcomers, including freshman point guard Taylor Dickson.

The team’s first game will be against Moravian on February 21st. They will then take on Carthage in the second round of the tournament on February 28th.

Juniata Women’s Basketball: The Future

The Juniata women’s Basketball Team is coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 12-16 and failed to qualify for the postseason. The Eagles will look to rebound from that disappointing campaign and return to their winning ways in the upcoming season

Juniata will have a new head coach at the helm this year, as Patrick McLaughlin takes over for the departed Jenn VanDerveer. McLaughlin inherits a squad that includes just two seniors, forward Leah Weaver and guard Kourtney Beegle. The rest of the team is made up of juniors, sophomores, and freshmen.

The Eagles will look to their two senior leaders to provide guidance and stability as they look to return to the postseason. Weaver and Beegle will also be counted on to provide scoring and rebounding, as they are two of the team’s most experienced and talented players.

Juniata will open their season on November 15th with a Home game against Hiram College They will then embark on a tough non-Conference Schedule that includes games against regional powers like Messiah College Lebanon Valley College Elizabethtown College, and Gettysburg College If the Eagles can navigate their way through that gauntlet unscathed, they should find themselves in good position to make a run at an conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament
