Head Coach
Bryce Drew enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Sacramento State men’s Basketball team He has compiled a 61-59 (.508) record during his three years in charge and has led the Hornets to a postseason berth in each of his first three seasons, including an NCAA Division I Tournament appearance in 2019.
Assistant Coaches
The assistant coaches for the 2019-2020 Season are Justin Hull, Troy Brown and Billy Mulligan.
Hull comes to Sacramento State from UC Irvine, where he spent the last four seasons as an Assistant Coach Hull was part of a staff that helped the Anteaters to a Big West Conference regular season title and a berth in the NCAA Division I tournament in 2015. He has also served as an assistant coach at UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara
Brown joins the Sacramento State staff after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Pepperdine University. Brown helped Pepperdine to a 23-10 record and a berth in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) in 2018. Prior to his time at Pepperdine, he was an assistant coach at San Diego State University for one season.
Mulligan comes to Sacramento State after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Brigham Young University (BYU). Mulligan was part of a staff that helped BYU to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2017 and an NCAA Division I tournament berth in 2019. He has also served as an assistant coach at Weber State University and Utah Valley University

Results
The 2019-2020 season was the best season in recent memory for the Sac State Men’s basketball team They had a winning record of 21-9 and made it to the conference championship game. They finished the season ranked in the top 25 in the nation.
Standings
The 2019-2020 season is the Sacramento State men’s basketball team’s 72nd season of playing organized basketball. The Hornets will play their home games at the Golden 1 Center and are members of the Big Sky Conference
The Hornets finished the 18-19 season 15–17, 8–10 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament to Idaho State
Head coach Troy Taylor will begin his third season at Sacramento State.

The starting lineup for the 2019-2020 season includes:
-Garrett Type: A junior guard from Los Angeles CA. He averaged 8 points per game last season.
--Isaiah Thomas A sophomore guard from Modesto, CA. He averaged 10 points per game last season.
-Joshua Patton: A senior center from Sacramento, CA. He averaged 12 points and 8 rebounds per game last season.
-Joe Grundy: A sophomore forward from San Jose CA. He averaged 6 points per game last season.
-Jordan Tolbert: A freshman forward from Los Angeles CA. He is a highly touted recruit and expected to make an immediate impact on the team.
Community
The Sac State Men’s basketball team is made up of student athletes who are committed to their studies and to the game of basketball The team is coached by Brian Katz and plays its home games at the Sacramento State University Arena. The 2018-2019 season was a historic one for the Hornets, as they won the Big Sky conference tournament and earned a berth in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament
Alumni
Some of the school’s most notable alumni in the NBA include De’Aaron Fox, Larry Johnson Bobby Jackson, and Kevin Johnson. The school has also produced a number of top European professionals, such as Nikos Zisis and Dimitrios Diamantidis.
