UNC Asheville Basketball Roster
UNC Asheville will look to contend for a conference title this upcoming season with a mix of veterans and newcomers on the roster. The team will be led by senior guard LJ Thorpe, who was named first team All-Big South last season. Other key returners include junior forward Devon Baker (second team All-Big South) and sophomore guard Tajion Jones, who was named Big South Freshman of the Year. The team will also have several new faces, including transfer guard Khalil Johnson, who averaged 12 points per game at Old Dominion last season. With a strong core of returners and some promising newcomers, UNC Asheville will be looking to make some noise in the conference this season.

The best guards are fast, have good ball-handling skills, and are excellent at reading the game to make quick decisions.
The roster for UNC Asheville’s guards is as follows:
--Macio Teague (6-foot-4, 200 pounds): A junior from Asheville, N.C., Teague was named Big South Conference Preseason Player of the Year. He averaged 16 points per game and shot 42 percent from three-point range last season. Teague was also named First Team All-Big South Conference
-Khadim Sy (6-foot-10, 225 pounds): A freshman from Senegal, Africa, Sy comes to UNC Asheville with high expectations. He is a versatile player who can shoot from long range and is a good defender and rebounder. Sy was named Mr. Basketball in Senegal last year.
-Andrew Rowsey (5-foot-10, 175 pounds): A graduate transfer from Marquette University Rowsey averaged 20 points per game two years ago while shooting 42 percent from three-point range.Rowsey will give the Bulldogs an experienced and dangerous shooter on the court.
-Tajion Jones (6-foot-1, 185 pounds): A freshman from Charlotte, N.C., Jones is a talented guard who can score and distribute the ball well. He was named MVP of his High School team as a senior when he averaged 19 points per game and led his team to a conference championship

The UNC Asheville Basketball team is gearing up for an exciting season and fans are eager to see who will be taking the court. Here is a look at the forwards that make up the 2019-2020 roster.
--Aaron Wiggins A 6’6” freshman from Charlotte, Wiggins was a Standout Player in high school He was ranked as a top-100 recruit by ESPN and is expected to make an immediate impact for the Bulldogs.
-Devon Dotson: A 6’2” sophomore from Kansas, Dotson is one of the team’s most experienced players. He averaged 12 Points per game as a freshman and will be looked to as a leader on this year’s squad.
-Jalen McKee-Rodriguez: A 6’7” freshman from Los Angeles McKee-Rodriguez is a versatile player who can contribute on both ends of the court. He has a high motor and is expected to be a key contributor off the bench this season.

The Centers on the UNC Asheville Basketball Roster for the upcoming season are as follows:
-Qwyntin Conley: A 6’10” center from Mocksville, Conley was a member of the 2019 All-Western N.C. Athletic Conference second team. In his junior year, he averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game
-Jonathan Huerter: A 6’9” center from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Huerter joins the team as a freshman this season. He was a four-star recruit according to multiple scouting services and was ranked as high as the No. 18 center in his class by ESPN.
-Xavier Johnson: A 6’8” center from Charlotte, Johnson comes to UNC Asheville with two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from Florida Gulf Coast University. As a freshman at FGCU, he played in all 33 games and started 22, averaging 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.1 minutes per game.

-Aidan Fletcher: 6’7” forward from Charlotte, NC. Attended Charlotte Latin School where he was a member of the Varsity Basketball team for 3 years.
-Drew Dellinger: 6’5” guard/forward from Asheville, NC. Attended Christ School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team for 4 years.
-Kai Toews: 6’1” point guard from Vancouver, British Columbia. Attended Kitsilano Secondary School where he was a member of the varsity basketball team for 4 years.
