USC releases schedule for upcoming season

The USC Trojans men’s Basketball team released their schedule for the upcoming season on Tuesday. They will open their campaign at home against North Carolina on November 6th. The game will tip off at 8:00 PM EST and will be televised on ESPN.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2009, when the Tar Heels defeated the Trojans in the second round of the NCAA tournament USC is coming off a 21-13 season in which they made it to the NIT semifinals. North Carolina went 29-7 last year, won the ACC regular season title, and made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament

The rest of USC’s non-Conference Schedule includes games against South Dakota State Montana, Nevada, Pepperdine, and LMU. They will also participate in the Maui Invitational, where they could potentially face off against Kansas, UCLA,BYU, or Chaminade.

Key games on the schedule

The USC Trojans have released their schedule for the upcoming Basketball season and there are some key games to highlight.

The Trojans will open their season on November 6th at home against Pepperdine. They will then have a tough road contest against Nevada on November 10th. The team will return home for matchups against LMU (11/13) and CSUN (11/17) before hitting the road again for a Thanksgiving tournament in Hawaii. They will face off against Iowa State (11/23) and then either San Diego State or Texas Tech (11/24) in the tournament.

After returning from Hawaii, USC will play host to powerful Kansas on December 3rd. This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2009, when Kansas defeated USC in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA tournament The Jayhawks are currently ranked #1 in the AP preseason poll, so this will be a daunting challenge for the Trojans early in the season. Other home games of note include contests against New Mexico State (12/7), UNLV (12/22), and St. John’s (12/30).

On January 5th, USC will begin Pac-12 play with a road game at Oregon State The following week, they’ll travel to take on Oregon before returning home to face UCLA on January 19th. As always, the rivalry game against UCLA is one of the most anticipated games of the season, and this year’s contest should be especially heated as both teams are expected to contend for a conference title Additional tough road games include contests at Arizona (1/31), Colorado (2/9), Utah (2/21), and Cal (3/2).

The final regular season game will be played at home against Washington State on March 7th, and the Pac-12 tournament is scheduled for March 13-16 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
