Get to know the Kennesaw State Owls men’s basketball team roster for the 2019-20 season
Introduction
The Kennesaw State Owls men’s Basketball team is a NCAA Division I college basketball team that represents Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, United States The Owls are a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference They are currently led by Head Coach Al Skinner and play their home games at the KSU Convocation Center.
In their first season of Division I competition (2006–07), the Owls went 11–19. The following year, they improved to 15–16. In 2008–09, they won 19 games and qualified for their first ever postseason appearance in the 2009 CollegeInsider.com Tournament, where they lost in the first round to Evansville. They qualified for the tournament again in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2014, they qualified for their first ever NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament by winning the conference tournament and receiving an automatic bid as the conference tournament champions. They defeated Louisiana-Lafayette before losing to No. 6 ranked Oklahoma State in the second round.

The average height of the team is just under 6 feet 5 inches, and the average weight is about 190 pounds. The team’s leading scorer is junior guard Kevin Marshall Jr., who hails from Lithonia, Georgia. He’s averaging 16 points per game

KSU Head Coach
KSU Head Coach Al Skinner is in his 12th season at the helm of the Owls’ Basketball Program Skinner has compiled a record of 234-163 at Kennesaw State including six 20-win seasons and a pair of trips to the NCAA tournament He has also been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Coach of the Year four times.
KSU Assistants
In addition to Head coach Al Skinner, the Kennesaw State Owls basketball team has three assistant coaches
Coach Skinner is assisted by Jaren Lewison, who is in his first year as an Assistant Coach for the Owls. Prior to joining Kennesaw State, Lewison spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Brewton-Parker College. He also has experience coaching at the High School and AAU levels.
Coach Skinner is also assisted by Michael Durr who is entering his second season with the Owls. Durr previously served as an assistant coach at Georgia Highlands College. He has also coached at the high school and AAU levels.
And finally, Coach Skinner is assisted by Rob Wilkes, who is entering his third season with the Owls. Prior to joining Kennesaw State, Wilkes served as an assistant coach at Chattahoochee Valley Community College
KSU facilities
The KSU Basketball facilities are some of the best in the country. The recently renovated arena is equipped with a state of the art weight room, training room, and locker room The court itself is regulation size and has a top of the line sound system.
