How Today’s NBA Summer League Games Will Affect the Regular Season
With the NBA Summer League in full swing, fans are getting a first look at some of the league’s newest players. But how will today’s games affect the regular season?
The answer may not be clear until the season starts but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, while the Summer League is a good way for young players to get experience, it’s not always an accurate indicator of how they’ll perform in the regular season Second, even if a player does well in the Summer League it doesn’t guarantee that they’ll make an impact on their team’s regular season performance.
That being said, today’s games could still have an effect on how teams fared in the Regular Season For example, if the Los Angeles Lakers lose today’s game against the New York Knicks it could affect their morale going into the regular season Conversely, if the Knicks win today and carry that momentum into the Regular Season it could give them a boost.
It’s impossible to say for sure how today’s games will affect the regular season but one thing is for sure: they’re worth paying attention to.
What the NBA Summer League Can Teach Us About the Upcoming Season
The NBA Summer League can be a great indicator of how players will perform in the upcoming season While the games are not always played at the highest level they can still give us some insight into which players have been working on their game and which ones have not.
Today, we will take a look at three games that are taking place in the NBA Summer League and make some predictions on how they will turn out.
The first game is between the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers The Hornets are led by Kemba Walker who is one of the best young point guards in the league. The Lakers, on the other hand, are led by Lonzo Ball who is a rookie. In this matchup, we give the edge to the Hornets, as they have more experience and are better prepared for Summer League play.
The second game is between the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks The Pistons are led by Reggie Jackson who is one of the best scoring point guards in the league. The Hawks, on the other hand, are led by Dennis Schroder, who is a solid all-around player. In this matchup, we give the edge to the Pistons, as they have more firepower on offense and should be able to outscore the Hawks.
The third and final game is between two of last year’s playoff teams, the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets The Jazz are led by Donovan Mitchell who had a breakout rookie season last year. The Rockets are led by James Harden who is one of the best scorers in the league. In this matchup, we give the edge to Houston, as they have more experience and talent overall.
What We Learned from Yesterday’s NBA Summer League Games
It was an exciting day of action in the NBA Summer League yesterday, with plenty of close games and fantastic individual performances. Here’s a look at what we learned from all the action:
1. The Los Angeles Lakers are still the team to beat
Despite losing to the Dallas Mavericks yesterday, the Lakers remain the team to beat in the summer league They have a deep and talented roster, and they always seem to find a way to win close games.
2. The Mavericks are a force to be reckoned with
The Mavericks are always a tough team to play against, and they proved that yesterday with their victory over the Lakers. They have a lot of young talent on their roster, and they’re not afraid to use it.
3. The Boston Celtics are off to a hot start
The Celtics are one of the hottest teams in the Summer League right now, winning their first two games by double digits. They have a strong roster, and they seem to be clicking on all cylinders early on.
What to Expect from Tomorrow’s NBA Summer League Games
The NBA Summer League will continue tomorrow with four more games. The action will start at 1 p.m. ET when the Sacramento Kings take on the Detroit Pistons This will be followed by a matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks at 3 p.m. ET. Our Final Thoughts on the NBA Summer League
It’s been a long, eventful NBA Summer League filled with plenty of surprises. We’ve seen rookies like Lonzo Ball and Dennis Smith Jr. live up to the hype, while others like Josh Jackson and De’Aaron Fox have exceeded expectations. With the regular season just around the corner, let’s take a look at our final predictions for who will take home the Vegas Summer League title.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most fun Teams to Watch in the Summer League thanks in large part to Lonzo Ball The rookie out of UCLA has been spectacular at times, showing off his Court Vision and shooting stroke. In addition, the Lakers have also gotten strong production from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Brook Lopez. With a relatively easy path to the Championship game we think the Lakers will be playing for the title on Monday Night
On the other side of the bracket, the Boston Celtics have been led by Jayson Tatum who has shown why he was selected No. 3 overall in this year’s draft. Tatum has been nearly unstoppable on offense, and he’s also shown flashes of being a very good defender. The Celtics also have a number of other talented young players including Jaylen Brown Terry Rozier and Semi Ojeleye. We think the Celtics will defeat the Trail Blazers in the semifinals and then go on to face the Lakers in the Championship game
In what should be a close and exciting Championship game we think Lonzo Ball and the Los Angeles Lakers will come out on top to win the 2017 NBA Summer League title.
