The NBA Summer League is a great opportunity for young players to showcase their skills and earn a spot on an NBA roster Each year, a few players stand out above the rest and put up some big numbers. Here are the top five stat leaders from the 2018 NBA Summer League

6.NBA Summer League’s Top Blocks Leaders

In his first ever NBA game undrafted rookie Tacko Fall made quite the impression, as he led all players with six blocks in the Boston Celtics’ 85-53 victory over the Charlotte Hornets

The 23-year-old from Senegal, who stands an astounding 7’7″ tall with a wingspan of 8’2″, was a force to be reckoned with in the paint, swatting away six of the Hornets’ shots. He also added nine points and five rebounds in 17 minutes of action.

Fall’s impressive performance helped him earn a spot on the NBA Summer League’s All-Defensive team and he is currently tied for the league lead in blocks, along with Houston Rockets rookie Gary Clark Jr.

7.NBA Summer League’s Top 3-Point Shooters

1. Duncan Robinson, Miami Heat
2. Matt Thomas, Toronto Raptors
3. J.P. Macura, Charlotte Hornets

While most rookies and young players are still getting acclimated to the NBA game there are a handful of players who have noticeable skills that make them stand out amongst their peers. In the case of the Summer League one of those skills is shooting the three-ball.

After watching numerous games and taking into account volume and efficiency, these are the league’s top three-point shooters so far.

In first place is Duncan Robinson of the Miami Heat Robinson was signed by the team after going undrafted out of Michigan and has made the most of his opportunity, shooting an impressive 52.4% from downtown while averaging 16 points per game

Right behind him is Toronto Raptors guard Matt Thomas, who is shooting 50% from three-point range while averaging 15 points per game. Thomas played his college ball at Iowa State and went undrafted in 2017 before signing with the Raptors last year.

Rounding out the top three is Charlotte Hornets guard J.P. Macura, who is shooting 45% from three while averaging 13 points per game in Las Vegas Macura was a standout at Xavier University and went undrafted in 2018 before signing a two-way contract with Charlotte last summer.
