The Ohio State University has a long and storied history of sending players to the NBA. Some of the most successful players in the league have come from Ohio State including Lebron James John Havlicek, and Jerry Lucas. LeBron James
Lebron James is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is Widely considered one of the greatest NBA players in history, James has won four NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards, four NBA Finals MVP Awards and two Olympic gold medals James played High School basketball at St. Vincent–St. Mary high school in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, where he was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar After graduating, he was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft He led Cleveland to their first Finals appearance in franchise history and their first title in over 50 years. In 2010, James left the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat in a highly publicized ESPN special titled The Decision.
With Miami, James won back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013 and was named MVP of both Finals. After his fourth season with the Heat, James suffered two significant injuries that sidelined him for much of the 2014–15 season. Upon his return to full health later that season, he led an injury-riddled Heat team to just their third Eastern Conference title since he departed Cleveland nine years prior. In 2016, he played a pivotal role in leading the Cavs back from a 3–1 deficit to win the title against the Golden State Warriors becoming the first team ever to do so in NBA Finals history. This victory marked James’ third title with three different teams (Cleveland Cavaliers Miami Heat & LA Lakers), something that had never been done before in NBA history
In 2018, James opted out of his contract with the Cavs to sign with the Lakers. He won his fourth MVP Award during his first season with Los Angeles while leading them to their 17th NBA Finals appearance where they ultimately lost to Toronto Raptors 4-2. The following year he suffered a groin injury which limited him to 55 games but still managed to lead the Lakers back into playoff contention for which he was awarded All-Star game MVP honors for a record third time en route to his 16th All-Star selection overall; eclipsing Kobe Bryant’s record for most All Star selections by a Western Conference player.
Kevin Love
Kevin Love is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is a five-time NBA All-Star and won an NBA Championship with the Cavaliers in 2016. He was also a member of the gold medal winning United States national team at the 2010 FIBA World Championship and the 2012 Summer Olympics
Kyrie Irving

He played one season of college basketball for the Texas Longhorns before being drafted fourth overall by the Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA Draft In his second season with the team, he helped lead them to their first NBA Championship in franchise history.

Green was born in Cheverly, Maryland to Jeff and Joyce Green. As a senior at Northwestern high school in Hyattsville, Maryland, he was named consensus first-team all-American after averaging 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. Green later attended Georgetown University where he appeared in 61 games for the Hoyas over two seasons (2004–2006), averaging 13.3 points per game 6 rebounds per game and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 49 percent from the field and 70 percent from the Free Throw Line

Deshaun Thomas
Deshaun Thomas (born February 28, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for the Canton Charge of the NBA G League He played College Basketball for Ohio State University Thomas was born in Columbus, Ohio. As a freshman at Ohio State in 2009–10, he averaged 5.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game The Buckeyes reached the Final Four that season, losing to the University of Connecticut in the national semifinals.
In his sophomore year, Thomas improved his stats to 15.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as Ohio State again reached the Final Four, this time losing to the University of Kentucky in the Championship game As a junior in 2011–12, he was named first-team All-Big Ten after averaging 19.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
After declaring for the NBA draft following his junior season, Thomas was not selected in the 2012 NBA Draft but he did play for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2012 NBA Summer League On September 28, 2012, he signed with BC Zalgiris Kaunas of Lithuania but he was later released by Zalgiris on October 10 after appearing in just one Preseason Game due to injury. On November 1, 2012, he was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA D-League as an affiliate player of the Golden State Warriors
On January 7, 2013, he signed a 10-day contract with the Spurs but was not retained by San Antonio after his contract expired on January 17.. On January 22, 2013, Thomas was traded back to Santa Cruz from Sioux Falls after just six games with Sioux Falls due to injuries to teammates Carl Landry and Andrew Bogut..
