Holy Cross Women’s Basketball Recruits for the 2020-2021 Season

We are excited to announce our recruiting class for the 2020-2021 season! We have a great group of young women who will be representing the Holy Cross Women’s Basketball Program We can’t wait to see what they can do on the court!

Introducing the 2020-2021 Women’s Basketball Recruiting Class

The Holy Cross women’s basketball team is excited to announce its 2020-2021 recruiting class! This year’s class is made up of four talented student-athletes who will help the Crusaders continue their tradition of excellence on and off the court.

Head coach Melissa McFerren is looking forward to seeing what this group of young women can accomplish during their time at Holy Cross “We are incredibly excited about our 2020-2021 Recruiting Class ” said McFerren. “Each of these student-athletes brings something special to our program and we can’t wait to see what they will achieve both on and off the court.”

Meet the 2020-2021 Holy Cross Women’s Basketball Recruiting Class:

Maddie Burdick (North Attleboro, Mass.): A 5-10 guard/forward, Burdick was a three-year starter at North Attleboro High School where she helped lead her team to three consecutive Hockomock League championships. She was named a Hockomock League All-Star in both her junior and senior seasons, and was also named an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star as a senior. Burdick finished her career with 1,053 points, 545 rebounds, 205 assists and 168 steals.

Olivia Saad (Worcester, Mass.): A 5-7 guard, Saad comes to Holy Cross from Worcester Academy where she helped lead her team to back-to-back NEPSAC Class A championships. She was named the NEPSAC Class A Tournament MVP in both 2019 and 2020, and was also named a Mass Live All-Star in 2019. Saad finished her career with 1,370 points, 530 rebounds, 290 assists and 320 steals.

Julia Sullivan (Braintree, Mass.): A 6-0 forward/center, Sullivan was a four-year starter at Braintree high school where she helped lead her team to two State Championships and four Bay State conference championships She was named a Bay State Conference All-Star in both her junior and senior seasons, and was also named an Eastern Massachusetts All-Star as a senior. Sullivan finished her career with 1,182 points, 925 rebounds and 211 blocks.

Emily Tufts (Harvard, Mass.): A 6-1 forward/center, Tufts spent the last two years at Phillips Exeter Academy where she helped lead her team to back-to-back NEPSAC Class A championships. She was named an NEPSAC All-Star in both 2019 and 2020, and was also selected as Phillips Exeter’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2020. Tufts finished her career with 1120 points, 810 rebounds and 180 blocks.

Maddy Mullins is a guard from West Hartford Connecticut. She chose Holy Cross because of the close-knit community and the opportunity to play Division I Basketball Mullins says, “I am extremely excited to be a Crusader! I fell in love with the campus and the people on my visit and I can’t wait to get started.”

Olivia Webb is a forward from Stillwater, Oklahoma. Webb was drawn to Holy Cross because of the strong academics and competitive Basketball Program She says, “I am beyond thrilled to join such an amazing community of students, athletes, and coaches. Go Crusaders!”

Allie Sharp is a guard from Tampa, Florida. Sharp chose Holy Cross because she felt at home on her visit and she was impressed by the Coaching Staff She says, “I am very grateful for this opportunity to attend such a prestigious school while also playing the sport I love. Go Crusaders!”

The 2020-2021 recruiting class is one of the most talented and versatile in recent memory. The six recruits come from all across the country and will provide the team with a much needed boost in both scoring and rebounding. What the Recruits Bring to the Table for the 2020-2021 Season

The Holy Cross women’s Basketball team has announced their recruits for the 2020-2021 season. The team brings in six new faces, all of whom have the potential to make an immediate impact. Here’s a look at what each of the recruits brings to the table.

Guard J ‘Nyah Hicks is a former McDonald’s All-American who was ranked as the No. 21 point guard in the country by ESPN. Hicks is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and distribute the ball well. She will be an instant leader on the floor for the Crusaders.

Forward Abby O’Sullivan comes to Holy Cross from Milton Academy, where she was a two-time captain and led her team to two New England prep school Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A Championships. O’Sullivan is a strong inside presence who can also stretch the floor with her Three-point shooting

Center Olivia DelGrosso comes to Holy Cross from Stoughton high school where she was named Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior. DelGrosso is a 6’5″ post player who brings a versatile skill set to the Crusaders. She is a strong rebounder and shot blocker who can also step out and hit threes.

Forward Caroline Sweeney comes to Holy Cross from Scituate high school where she was named Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior. Sweeney is a 6’1″ wing player who can do it all on the court. She is an excellent scorer and rebounder with the ability to shoot threes and play solid defense.

Guard Claire Sullivan comes to Holy Cross from Archbishop Williams high school where she was named Catholic Central League MVP as a senior. Sullivan is a 5’9″ guard who excels at both ends of the court. She is an excellent shooter with outstanding defensive instincts.

How the 2020-2021 Women’s Basketball Recruiting Class Fits into the Team’s Plans

The Holy Cross women’s basketball team has announced its recruiting class for the 2020-2021 season. The class includes five players who will join the team as freshmen, two players who will transfer to Holy Cross from other schools, and one player who will join the team as a graduate transfer.

The class includes two guards, four forwards, and one center. The guards are Ally double and Maeve Dooley. The forwards are Katie Murray, Abby O’Connor, and Sydney Scalese. The center is McKayla Roberts.

The team’s leading scorer from last season, Infiniti Simmons, will return for her senior season. She will be joined by seniors Alyssa Kitahata and Sarah Hope Guerette, juniors Maureen connelly and Lauren Manis, and sophomore Claudia Dickey.

What the 2020-2021 Women’s Basketball Schedule Looks Like

The 2020-2021 women’s Basketball Recruiting Class is shaping up to be one of the most talented in recent memory.

The class includes several Star Prospects such as 5-star point guard recruit Kennedy Brown. Brown is ranked as the No. 2 player in the nation by ESPN and she has already committed to play for the University of Connecticut

Other top recruits in the class include No. 3 prospect Olivia Nelson-Ododa ( Georgia), No. 4 Aaliyah Moore (Connecticut), No. 5 Jordan Horston (Tennessee) and No. 6 Sedona Prince (Texas).

With so much talent in the 2020-2021 recruiting class it’s no surprise that many of the nation’s top programs are fighting for their services.

Here is a look at what the 2020-2021 women’s Basketball Schedule looks like for some of the nation’s top teams

Duke: The Blue Devils will have their hands full with a tough ACC schedule that features games against Notre Dame Louisville, Florida State and Syracuse. They will also face non-conference foes like Connecticut, South Carolina and Stanford.

Connecticut: The Huskies will have a challenging Conference Schedule that features games against Duke, Louisville, Florida State and Syracuse. They will also face non-conference foes like Oklahoma, California and Texas.

Tennessee: The Lady Volunteers will have a tough SEC schedule that includes games against Kentucky, South Carolina Arkansas and Missouri. They will also face non-conference foes like UConn, Notre Dame and Stanford.

The Holy Cross women’s basketball team has announced their recruiting class for the 2020-2021 season. The class is made up of five players from four different states.

Maggie Pajak is a 6-1 guard/forward from Woonsocket, R.I. She played her high school basketball at Mount Saint Charles Academy, where she was a three-time Catholic Conference All-Star. Pajak was also named the Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior.

Olivia Lynch is a 5-11 guard from Lexington, Mass. She played her high school basketball at Lexington High School where she was a two-time Dual County League All-Star. Lynch was also named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic as a senior.

Aislinn DeHority is a 6-0 forward from Fishers, Ind. She played her high school basketball at Hamilton Southeastern high school where she was named an IndyStar Super Team Honorable Mention as a senior.

Sydney conley is a 5-8 guard from Stow, Ohio. Conley played her high school basketball at Stow-Munroe Falls High School where she was named an Akron Beacon Journal All-Star as a junior and senior.

Emily Sullivan is a 6-2 center from Canton, Conn. Sullivan played her high school basketball at Canton High School where she was named an All-State Honorable Mention as a senior.

How the 2020-2021 Women’s basketball team Is Preparing for the Season

The Holy Cross women’s basketball team is preparing for the 2020-2021 season with a lot of new recruits. The team has brought in four new freshmen and one transfer student. With these five new players, the team is looking to improve upon their 16-15 record from last year and make a run at the Patriot League title.

The team’s four freshmen are all guards who will add some scoring punch to the lineup. Maggie Pritchard is a 5’9″ guard from Hopkinton, MA who was a 1,000 point scorer in High School Katie Button is a 5’7″ guard from Milton, MA who was also a 1,000 point scorer in High School Abby Martin is a 5’8″ guard from Sandwich, MA who averaged over 15 points per game as a senior in High School And Fiona O’Dwyer is a 5’8″ guard from Wellesley, MA who was named a league all-star as a senior in High school

In addition to the four freshmen guards, the team also added Kaitlyn Dromeda, a 6’0″ forward/center, who transferred to Holy Cross from Rhode Island College. Kaitlyn will add some size and rebounding to the frontcourt.

The team has high hopes for the upcoming season and is looking to build on the success of last year’s team. With their talented group of newcomers, they should be in contention for the Patriot League title.

What the Expectations Are for the 2020-2021 Women’s Basketball Team

The Holy Cross women’s Basketball team is looking to rebound after a difficult 2019-2020 Season The team has a lot of young talent, but will need to replace the production of graduated seniors Anne Bynre and Paige McCormick. The team will also need to fill the void left by the departure of Head Coach Bill Gibbons.

Incoming freshman have a lot of potential, and the team is hoping that they can make an immediate impact. The team is also looking for leadership from its upperclassmen, as they will be expected to provide guidance for the younger players.

The 2020-2021 season will be an important one for the Holy Cross women’s Basketball Team as they look to rebuild and return to prominence in the Patriot League

Get to Know the 2020-2021 Women’s Basketball Recruiting Class

The Holy Cross women’s Basketball team is excited to announce its incoming recruiting class for the 2020-2021 season! Get to know the newest members of the Crusader family below.

Maggie Young
Maggie is a 5-11 guard from Hingham, Mass. She comes to Holy Cross from Notre Dame Academy, where she was a four-year starter and captain her senior year. During her time at Notre Dame Maggie helped lead her team to two state championships and three consecutive appearances in the State Tournament In addition to her basketball accomplishments, she also ran track & field for three years and was a member of the National Honor Society. Maggie will be studying psychology at Holy Cross.

Avery LaBarbera
Avery is a 6-0 forward from Reading, Mass. She joins the Crusaders from Brooks School, where she captained her Basketball team as a senior and led them to the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) Class C semifinals. Avery was also a three-time participant in the NEISDA swim championships and served as captain of her swim team during her junior and senior seasons. Outside of athletics, Avery has been involved with Student Council, Model UN and theatre productions at Brooks. She plans to study political science at Holy Cross.

Julia Hartway
Julia is a 5-9 guard from Arlington Heights, Ill. A two-sport athlete in high school she captained both her basketball and lacrosse teams as a senior at St Viator High School Julia helped lead her basketball team to back-to-back East Suburban Catholic Conference (ESCC) championships and was named an ESCC All-Conference selection twice. On the lacrosse field, she was named an All-Area selection by the Chicago Sun Times following her senior season. Julia will be majoring in biology at Holy Cross with hopes of pursuing a career in medicine or veterinary medicine after graduation.
