Introduction
The All-NBA team is an annual honor bestowed upon the best players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 1996 All-NBA team was selected in 1996 and featured some of the greatest players to ever play the game Michael Jordan Shaquille O’Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon were all unanimously voted to the first team. Kobe Bryant Jason Kidd and Gary Payton rounded out the first team. The second team consisted of Grant Hill Karl Malone Dikembe Mutombo Reggie Miller and John Stockton The third team was made up of Anfernee Hardaway, Allen Iverson Sean Kemp, Shawn Kemp and David Robinson

He is currently the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets Shaquille O’Neal is a retired professional basketball player who is currently working as an analyst on Inside The NBA Hakeem Olajuwon is a retired Professional Basketball player who is currently an Assistant Coach for the Houston Rockets Kobe Bryant is a retired professional basketball player who is currently working on his post-playing career as an entrepreneur and investor. Jason Kidd is a retired professional basketball player who is currently serving as the Head Coach of the Milwaukee Bucks Gary Payton is a retired professional basketball player who is currently working as an analyst for ESPN’s NBA Countdown show. Grant Hill is a retired professional basketball player who iscurrently serving as a special correspondent for Turner Sports’ Inside the NBA show. Karl Malone is a retired professional basketball player who now works as an analyst for Utah Jazz games on AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain Dikembe Mutombo is a retired professional Basketball player who now works as president and chairman of Dikembe Mutombo Foundation. In 1996, the All-NBA First Team consisted of Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan Anfernee Hardaway, and Gary Payton. Let’s take a look at where these NBA legends are now:
Shaquille O’Neal is still going strong at age 46. He works as an analyst on the TNT show Inside the NBA and also has a successful rap career. He is currently married to Laticia Rolle and has five children.
Hakeem Olajuwon is also still active at age 57. He runs a Basketball Camp in Houston called The Dream Shake and is also involved in real estate. He is married to Dalia Asafi and has three children.
Michael Jordan needs no introduction. He is widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time. At age 54, he is the owner of the Charlotte Hornets and has six children. He is married to Yvette Prieto.
Anfernee Hardaway’s career was cut short by injuries, but he has remained involved in the game as a coach and commentator. He is currently an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies He has four children and is married to Mary Hardaway.
Gary Payton was one of the best point guards of his generation. He is now an analyst for ESPN and has appeared in several movies and TV shows. He has nine children and is married to Monique James-Payton.

Michael Jordan: After retiring from the Chicago Bulls in 1998, Jordan played minor League Baseball for a year before returning to the NBA with the Washington Wizards in 2001. He stayed with the Wizards until 2003, when he finally retired (for real this time) at the age of 40. These days, Jordan is chairman of NBA team the Charlotte Hornets and has a majority stake in NASCAR team 23XI Racing. He also owns several restaurants and has his own clothing line. Oh, and he’s a billionaire.
Scottie Pippen: Pippen played for six different teams after leaving the Bulls in 1998, finally hanging up his sneakers for good in 2005. In 2010, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame These days, Pippen works as an analyst on ESPN’s NBA Countdown show. He also runs his own youth Basketball Camp and has a line of signature Nike sneakers.
Shaquille O’Neal: One of the most dominant players in NBA history O’Neal won four championships with three different teams (the Lakers, Heat, and Suns). He retired from basketball in 2011 and now works as an analyst on TNT’s Inside the NBA Show O’Neal is also a successful businessman; he has his own line of modern furniture, a clothing line for kids, and a line of signature shoes with Reebok.

The 1996 All-NBA team was the first year that the league honored the best players in the regular season with an official award.
