The Heat’s Basketball Schedule The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

With the NBA schedule recently released, there are a few things to be excited about, a few things that are head-scratchers, and a few down right ugly parts of the schedule. Let’s take a look at each:

The Good:
-Two Home Games to start the season! The Heat will take on the Milwaukee Bucks and the Charlotte Hornets two winnable games to start off the season
-A post all-star break homestand! From February 27th to March 8th, the Heat will play 7 games at American Airlines Arena

The Bad:
-12 back-to-backs. That is tied for 5th most in the NBA this season That means 12 times where the team will play on one night, and then fly to another city for a game the very next night. That’s brutal for any team, let alone an aging team like the Miami Heat
-A 5 game road trip out West in late January/early February. TheHeat will take on Denver, Portland, Sacramento, Utah, and Minnesota. Historically speaking, road trips out west have not been kind to East Coast teams.

The Ugly:
-Only 2 primetime games on national TV (ESPN and TNT). The league’s marquee players get multiple nights in front of a national audience on ESPN and TNT. The lower echelon teams are often left out in the cold when it comes to nationally televised games. Unfortunately for Heat fans, it seems like this is going to be one of those years again where we won’t get to see our team very often if we don’t have League Pass
