Lubbock Regional Baseball Who’s in and Who’s out?

The Lubbock Regional Baseball Tournament is an annual event that takes place in early June. It is a double-elimination tournament that features eight teams from the surrounding area. The teams are divided into two pools, with the winners of each pool advancing to the Championship game

This year, the Lubbock Regional Baseball Tournament will take place from June 3-5. The eight teams that will be competing are:

Pool A:
--Lubbock Christian University
--Texas Tech University
-University of Texas at Tyler
--West Texas A&M University

Pool B:
--Angelo State University
-Eastern New Mexico University
--Midwestern State University
--Ouachita Baptist University

The Lubbock Regional will see some familiar foes and some new ones when the tournament begins on Friday. Here’s a look at who’s in and who’s out.

A&M-Corpus Christi (40-17, 20-4 Southland)
Dallas Baptist (36-19, 15-9 Missouri Valley)

The Lubbock Regional will feature Texas Tech as the No. 4 seed, Oral Roberts as the No. 2 seed and Louisville as the No. 3 seed. Oklahoma State did not make the cut for the 64-team NCAA tournament

As the college baseball regional tournaments commence this weekend, eight programs in Texas will be vying for a chance to make it to the College World Series in Omaha.

Of those eight programs, four are from the state’s Lone Star Conference Texas Tech Dallas Baptist Sam Houston State and Angelo State The other four schools in the running are TCU (Big 12), Rice (Conference USA), Texas A&M (SEC), and UT Arlington (Sun Belt).

The top-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders will be hosting their regional tournament at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. This will be the fourth time in program history that the Red Raiders have hosted a regional tournament, with the last one coming in 2016. As the number one overall seed in the NCAA Tournament Texas Tech will be favored to advance to Omaha.

TCU is also hosting a regional tournament at Lupton Stadium. The Horned Frogs are coming off a Big 12 conference tournament championship and will be looking to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament

Rice will be traveling to Baton Rouge Louisiana to take on SEC foe LSU in their first game of the regional tournament. The Owls are coming off a Conference USA regular season championship and will look to make some noise in the NCAA tournament

UT Arlington will be on the road as well, traveling to Corvallis, Oregon to take on number one seed Oregon State The Mavericks are coming off a Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship and will look to pull off an upset against Oregon State

Texas A&M rounds out the list of teams from Texas that will be participating in this year’s Caa Baseball tournament The Aggies will be traveling to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take on host team Arkansas in their first game of the regional tournament.

The Lubbock regional features two Texas teams in No. 2 Texas Tech and No. 3 Texas, as well as Army West Point and Fairfield. Here is a look at the four teams in the Lubbock Regional.

As the college baseball season winds down, we take a look at who’s in and who’s out of the Lubbock Regional.

The Lubbock Regional is set to begin on Friday, June 1st and will feature four teams: (1) Texas Tech (2) Ole Miss (3) Florida Atlantic and (4) Army.

Texas Tech is the top seed in the regional and will be looking to make a run to the College World Series The Red Raiders are coming off a Big 12 regular season title and are 42-15 on the season. They will be led by junior second baseman Josh Jung, who is hitting .340 with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs. On the mound, Texas Tech has a strong pitching staff that includes junior left-hander Dylan Dusek (9-1, 2.73 ERA) and senior right-hander Davis Martin (10-0, 2.52 ERA).

Ole Miss is the second seed in the regional and is coming off a disappointing end to the Regular Season losing five of its last six games. The Rebels are 36-25 on the year and are led by junior first baseman Ryan Rolison, who is hitting .302 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs. On the mound, Ole Miss will rely on senior right-hander Brady Feigl (5-5, 4.08 ERA) and junior right-hander Will Ethridge (6-3, 3.31 ERA).

Florida Atlantic is the third seed in the regional and comes into the postseason hot, winning 14 of its last 16 games. The Owls are 41-19 on the year and are led by senior third baseman Richie Martin, who is hitting .306 with six home runs and 40 RBIs. On the mound, Florida Atlantic has a strong pitching staff that includes senior right-hander Kyle Miller (9-2, 2.96 ERA) and junior righty Jaredsocket 3386 Reaves (7-1, 2.87 ERA).

Army is the fourth seed in the regional and comes into Lubbock as one of the hottest teams in all of college baseball winning 17 of its last 18 games. The Black Knights are 37-21 on the year but have struggled offensively at times this season, hitting just .245 as a team. They will be led by sophomore pitcher Matt Ballinger (9-2icon+2 3doc), who has a 2..32 ERA in 89 innings pitched this season

As the regular season comes to a close, Lubbock’s three college baseball teams are still in the running for a spot in the postseason.

Texas Tech is currently ranked #8 in the nation and is projected to be a top seed in the NCAA tournament They will almost certainly be hosting a regional at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.

Texas Tech’s biggest competition for a hosting spot will be LSU, who is also projected to be a top seed. LSU is currently ranked #6 in the nation and has been one of the best teams in the country all season. If they don’t get a top seed, they are still very likely to get a regional at Alex Box Stadium

The third team in contention for a regional is TCU. The Horned Frogs are currently ranked #16 and are projected to be a lower seed. They would need some help to get a regional at Lupton Stadium, but it is not out of the question.

The fourth and final team with a chance to make the postseason is Baylor. The Bears are currently on the outside looking in, but they have an outside chance at an At-Large bid if they can make a run in the Big 12 tournament.

As the number two seed in the Lubbock regional, Texas Tech will have their work cut out for them if they want to make a run at the College World Series They will have to face off against some tough competition in New Mexico State Fairfield, and host school Texas Tech However, Texas Tech has shown they are up for the challenge this season. They have a strong pitching staff that has only given up an average of 3.38 runs per game, which is good for second in the nation. Additionally, their offense has been explosive at times, scoring 10 or more runs in 12 different games this season. If they can put it all together and play their best baseball of the year, they have a good chance to make a deep run in the tournament.

The Lubbock Regional of the 2019 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament will feature four teams: the top-seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders, the second-seeded Louisville Cardinals the third-seeded TCU Horned Frogs and the fourth-seeded Sam Houston State Bearkats. The Red Raiders are the defending National Champions and have won four of the last five Big 12 conference championships They are looking to return to the College World Series for the third time in four years. The Cardinals are one of college baseball’s Blue Bloods making 37 NCAA Tournament appearances, including 13 trips to the College World Series They have won two National Championships in 1957 and 2013. The Horned Frogs have been to 10 NCAA tournaments and made two trips to the College World Series in 2014 and 2016. The Bearkats are making their seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and are looking for their first trip to Omaha.

It’s that time of year again. The leaves are changing color, the air is getting colder and the sound of leather meeting wood can be heard all across the country. That’s right, it’s baseball season! And while most people are focused on the Major League Baseball playoffs, there is another group of hopeful young men that are preparing for their own postseason tournament.

The Lubbock Regional is one of 16 NCAA Division I Baseball Regionals that will be played this weekend. The tournament is a double-elimination format, meaning that a team must lose two games before they are eliminated from contention. The Lubbock Regional will feature four teams: Texas Tech UTSA, Dallas Baptist and Kentucky.

Texas Tech enters the tournament as the number one seed and the clear favorite to win the regional. They finished the Regular Season with a 43-15 record and are ranked sixth in the nation by Baseball America They will take on fourth-seeded Kentucky in their first game Friday Night

UTSA comes into the regional as the second seed with a 39-19 record. They are not as highly ranked as Texas Tech but they did win their conference tournament which earned them an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament They will open up against third-seeded Dallas Baptist Friday afternoon.

The winner of each regional will advance to one of eight NCAA Super Regionals The Super Regionals are best-of-three series between two teams, with the winner of each series advancing to Omaha, Nebraska for the College World Series

The Lubbock Regional Baseball Tournament is a NCAA Division I college baseball tournament that is set to take place from June 1-4, 2018 at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park in Lubbock, Texas. The event is being hosted by Texas Tech University This will be the first time that Texas Tech has hosted a regional Baseball Tournament

The format of the tournament will have the four teams play each other in a double-elimination style tournament. The team that comes out of the Lubbock Regional will move on to play in the College World Series which takes place in Omaha, Nebraska.

Texas Tech is one of the four teams that will be taking part in the Lubbock Regional Baseball Tournament The other three teams are Louisville, Southern Miss and Dallas Baptist.

In order to make it to the College World Series teams must first make it through their Regional tournament. The Lubbock Regional tournament is made up of four teams, each coming from a different college baseball conference.

The first team is the Big 12 Conference champion, Texas Tech University The Red Raiders have had an impressive season, winning both the regular season and Conference Tournament titles. They will be the number one seed in the Lubbock Regional and will have home field advantage throughout the tournament.

The second team is the Missouri Valley Conference champion, Dallas Baptist University The Patriots lost in the conference tournament Championship game but their overall record was good enough to earn them an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament They will be the number two seed in the Lubbock Regional.

The third team is Florida Gulf Coast University, champions of the Atlantic Sun Conference The Eagles lost in their Conference tournament semifinals, but they also had a strong overall record and earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament They will be the number three seed in the Lubbock Regional.

The fourth and final team is Sam Houston State University champions of the Southland Conference The Bearkats lost in their conference tournament Championship game but their overall record was good enough to earn them an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament They will be the number four seed in the Lubbock Regional.

The Lubbock Regional will take place from June 1-4 at Texas Tech’s Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. The winner of the Lubbock Regional will advance to play in a Super Regional against either Vanderbilt or Duke.

Lubbock Regional Baseball The journey to Omaha

The Lubbock Regional began Friday morning with a Texas Tech victory over Kent State The Golden Flashes put up a good fight, but the Red Raiders ultimately won 6-4. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams scoring runs in bunches. The Red Raiders got on the board first with a two-run home run by Dylan Neuse in the bottom of the second inning, but Kent State answered right back with three runs in the top of the third. Texas Tech then took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Kent State put up one more run in the top of the ninth inning but it was not enough to overcome the Red Raiders’ lead. Texas Tech will now move on to play Vanderbilt in the winner’s bracket on Saturday. Vanderbilt won their first game of the Regional against Central Michigan 10-3.

The other side of the Lubbock Regional features Louisville and Louisiana Tech Louisville won their first game against Louisiana Tech 9-8 in Extra Innings The Cardinals were down 8-7 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, but they rallied to score two runs and win the game. Louisville will now play Louisiana Tech again on Saturday in an elimination game.
