As the UT Tyler men’s Basketball team prepares for the road to the NCAA Division III tournament, let’s take a look back at their season so far.

The Patriots have had an impressive season, finishing with a 25-4 record. They started off strong with a 12-1 record in non-conference play This included notable wins over Concordia University Texas and East Texas Baptist University

In conference play the Patriots went 13-3, losing only to Louisiana College, Ozarks, and Sul Ross State They won their final regular season game against East Texas Baptist University, securing the number one seed in the American Southwest conference tournament

In the ASC tournament, they defeated Southwestern Assemblies of God University before losing to Louisiana College in the Championship game This loss meant that their hopes of an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament were dashed, but they still had a chance to receive an at-large bid.

Unfortunately, their season came to an end when they were not selected for the NCAA Tournament While it was a disappointing end to what was otherwise an outstanding season, the future looks bright for UT Tyler Men’s Basketball.

The UT Tyler men’s basketball team is on the road to the NCAA Division III tournament for the fourth consecutive year. The Patriots will take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the first round of the tournament on Friday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game will be played at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the NCAA Division III tournament. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is making its first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. The Stags are 22-5 overall and finished second in the Southern California collegiate athletic conference (SCIAC).

The Patriots are 26-3 overall and won the American West Conference (ASC) regular season and tournament titles. UT Tyler is ranked No. 18 in the latest NCAA Division III national poll.

The UT Tyler Men’s Basketball team is gearing up for another exciting season. The Patriots are coming off a successful 2017-2018 campaign in which they won the American West Conference Regular Season and tournament titles, and earned a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

This year, the team is looking to build on that success and make a run at the National Championship Led by head coach Jason Bodine, the Patriots have a strong core of returning players and are eager to get back on the court.

In Part 1 of our series, we’ll take a look at the team’s schedule and see what challenges they’ll face on their road to the NCAA tournament

guard, Jamal Johnson, scored 25 points to lead the charge as the UT Tyler men’s basketball team rolled to an 84-65 victory over Birmingham-Southern in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday Night at Herb Brooks Arena.

The Patriots (26-4) will take on either No. 6 St. Thomas or No. 11 Concordia-Moorhead in the second round on Saturday with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.

It is UT Tyler’s third NCAA appearance in the last four years and sixth overall after also qualifying in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2016 and 2017.

The UT Tyler Men’s basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in program history. The Patriots will take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the first round of the tournament on Friday, March 9 at 5:00 p.m. CT.

This is the second part of our series looking at the road to the NCAA Tournament for UT Tyler. In Part 1, we looked at how the Patriots earned their spot in the tournament. In this installment, we’ll take a closer look at their opponent, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

The Islanders are making their sixth appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament and their first since 2015. They finished the regular season with a 20-9 record and were runners-up in the Southland Conference Tournament.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is led by Senior Guard Ehab Amin, who was named Southland Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Amin averages 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals per game. He’ll be a tough test for UT Tyler’s defense.

The Patriots will have their hands full with Amin and the Islanders, but they’re ready for the challenge. Head Coach Jamon Copeland said, “We’re excited about this opportunity to compete against a really good basketball team… We feel like we can compete with anybody in our region.”

The team is led by senior guard Jett Johnston, who was named the D3Player of the Year. He is averaging 21 points per game and is shooting 50% from three-point range He is a lethal scorer and an excellent defender. Johnston is joined by fellow seniors Tyler Tatum and Matt Bingham, who are both averaging double figures in scoring.

After winning the ASC Championship, the UT Tyler men’s Basketball team makes its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. The Patriots are set to take on Oglethorpe University in the first round.

In Part 4 of our series on the UT Tyler Men’s Basketball team’s road to the NCAA tournament we take a look at their final game against Augustana University.

The UT Tyler Men’s Basketball team defeated Augustana University in the semifinal round of the NCAA Division II tournament on Saturday, March 17th, 2018. The final score was UT Tyler 79, Augustana 71.

The UT Tyler Men’s Basketball team will now advance to the final round of the NCAA Division II tournament, where they will take on Northern State University on Sunday, March 18th, 2018. The final score of that game was UT Tyler 85, Northern State 63.

The UT Tyler Men’s basketball team is now the only Texas team remaining in the NCAA Division II tournament. They are also the first team in program history to make it to the final round of the NCAA Division II tournament.

The University of Texas at Tyler men’s Basketball Team is headed to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in school history! The Patriots will take on St. Thomas (Minn.) in the first round on Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. CT at Schoenecker Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and the entire NCAA Division III tournament can be seen on the NCAA’s website.

UT Tyler Men’s Basketball: The Road to the NCAA Tournament – Part 5

In the final part of our series, “The Road to the NCAA Tournament”, we’ll take a look at how the UT Tyler men’s basketball team has fared in recent years in the tournament.

As stated previously, the UT Tyler men’s basketball team has made four consecutive trips to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament and has advanced to the second round in three of those four appearances. In 2016, the Patriots made it to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history before falling to eventual National Champion Middlebury.

Last season, UT Tyler fell in the first round to Texas Lutheran but not before putting up a fight. The Patriots led by as many as eight points in the second half before ultimately succumbing to a late rally by the Bulldogs.

Despite coming up just short of their ultimate goal in recent years there is no doubt that the UT Tyler men’s Basketball team is one of the best in Division III With a core group of players returning for another run at the tournament this year, don’t be surprised if they make some noise come March.

The University of Texas at Tyler men’s Basketball team is headed to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in school history. The Patriots will take on No. 8-ranked and undefeated DeSales University in the Opening Round on Friday, March 7, at 5:30 p.m. ET at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

The UT Tyler men’s Basketball Team is headed to the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time in school history. The Patriots will take on Emory University in the first round on Friday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m. CT.

UT Tyler earned the No. 6 seed in the South Region and will be making its first appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament. The Patriots (23-7) are coming off a 73-69 victory over Millsaps College in the 2019 SCAC Championship game on Saturday afternoon.

This will be just the second meeting all-time between UT Tyler and Emory with the Patriots taking a 76-51 victory back on December 30, 2017, in Houston.

UT Tyler men’s basketball has had a historic season.
The team entered the season ranked No. 5 in the nation and ended the Regular Season 30-1, a program record for wins.
The team has also won 23 straight games, another program record.
This is the first time in program history that the team has been ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The team’s only loss was to LeTourneau University on January 6th.

The team has been led by Senior guard Kenneth Jones, who was named American West Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, and freshman forward Anthony Livingston, who was named ASC Newcomer of the Year.

The team will enter the NCAA Division III Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the South Region and will host a four-team regional at Herrington Patriot Center March 15-18.

The team is currently preparing for this game and hoping to come out with a victory. If the team can win their game and make a run in the NCAA Tournament it would be a huge accomplishment for the program.
